I have been searching the internet and keep getting the same rescue groups. I know there must be more rescues out there. I live in southern California and am willing to travel for the right dog. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Please go to the South Los Angeles Animal Care and Control Center. Check out www.laanimalservices.com where currently there are 367 pictures of dogs waiting for forever homes. This site will cover all of the dogs availabe at 6 different "care centers" in southern California. You can sort by breed. Adopt a dog, save a life.

Try looking for more general rescues that work with different kinds of dogs and see if they have any huskies or dobies. Or, check out the pounds in your area. Half of all dogs there are purebred.

either www.petfinder.com OR 1-800-save-a-pet.com they are both great. i really applaud you for going to a rescue and not a breeder, never go to a breeder or a puppy mill! good luck i hope you find the dog your looking for!
