People who fear death are usually people who have NOT had a well lived life, so they are unwilling to enter deaths doors coz they have many regrets, unfulfilled wishes etc. Those who welcome death when it comes ( they don't go looking for death ) have usually lived a well-lived life doing what they needed to do, and are therefore, ready and prepared to go.

There are of course people who SEARCH for death, these are usually people who look for the easy way out, to start all over with a clean slate, or to totally erase mistakes made in the past which they are unable to face up to.

Many People like birth or births because it usually signals a new begining, a second chance... and I believe all through our lives... we all are in need of 2nd chances to make right, that which we have dreadfully wronged in the past.

According to those on Earth, birth the beginning, and death is the end. But of course, spiritually speaking, death is another beginning.

My culture (Mexican) honors the dead more so than they honor birth. We even have a special day for it: El Dia de Muerte. It's quite a spectacle if you ever have a chance to see it in Mexico. I don't really believe in an afterlife, however I think death is a good thing because it makes your life special and motivates you to do something with it or risk dying in anonymity.

Actually, it says in the Bible that a day of death is better than their birth-
“A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one’s birth.”—Eccl. 7:1, Authorized Version.
The most consoling thought would be that the day of the death of this loved one would be better than the day of his birth—if he had made a good name with God, since infants have yet to make a good name with God.

Weird question, but I'll answer.
Birth is a time of something new, a new life, a new beginning for a person, who nobody knows. Death is a time of loss from this world. We have known this person and when they die we don't get to see them again until the afterlife.

I know. Death is so peaceful and calming. It's like falling into a deep sleep. Life creates so many problems. And besides unless you're not afraid to die you haven't even lived yet.

Do you remember enjoying birth?

I suppose your question is why would we strive to be born but are afraid of death................

We have fear of the unknown. We might be afraid of what will happen to us. We don't want to leave the people we love, etc.
