The word "Adam" means "ruddy, to show blood in the face". I don't believe Adam was white, but the definition of his name makes it clear he wasn't black either. Judging by the physical appearance of the people in the Middle East today, as well as the many bass reliefs from biblical times, I'd say Adam and Eve were probably similar in appearance to the Jews and Arabs of today. Modern archaeology has traced the Caucasoid races from Japheth, the ******* races from Ham, and the Mongoloid races from Shem. That does seem to rule out your assumption that any of the races were "invented".

People were not invented and Adam and Eve were not white. Each culture on every continent wrote history of the beginning to reflect their "color". In some religions, Adam and Eve were black.

People were created with many differences all over the world. Some would argue to best adapt to their area of the world. Others would say it was based on something else.

We should all stop looking at the color of the outside and start remembering we all bleed red.

Well, neither the Bible nor any other text can reasonably say that Adam and Eve were "white." If, as tradition has it, that the Garden of Eden were in the Fertile Crescent, around and near the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, it is more logical to believe that the first humans were of a color similar to people who have lived in that region. More important, however, is the realization that Adam and Eve are simply words that refer to human beings: "The Man" and "The Woman." Chances are the words refer to humankind and not just two individuals. It is humankind that committed and commits sin, not just two individuals. So, it seems inappropriate to ask the question, "What color were Adam and Eve?"

Adam and Eve were probably most likely not pastey white (like I am)that the European pictures suggest. The Jewish people are the descendants . The area of earth where they found the oldest people (with unreliable carbon dating) was in Africa, so they may have been black. Some see a change in our genetics through the centuries that our skin naturally protects its self and therefore becomes darker...genetically whites and blacks are just as likely to be closer to each other that another person of the same color... the skin pigment is a very small part of the the genetic chain.

First, Adam was probablu not white. His name means "reddish" like the color of the earth from which God created him. So he most likely had a darker, reddish hue to his skin. White European artist tend to depict Adam (and other Bible people) as being "white". The majority were Jewish and would look like Middle Eastern people of today.

Were did the rest of the races come from? As man spread across the globe, the population was thinned and seperated. As a result, most marriages were between people similar in genetic makeup. Just as family members are similar in looks because they share the same genes, so different races emerged as the people in that area shared the sadme genes. Those who became"black" have the gene which releases more "color" into the skin, while those who became "white" lacked that gene. No different then all the people in certain areas have blond hair or red hair, or all the people having born eyes, or all the men not having the gene to grow beards (like the American Indians).

Science and the Bible both agree that all humans, regardless of race, come from a single human female. Science does not yet have a way to track back the male DNA. Science is currently calling the woman by the name "Lucy". The Bible still uses the name "Eve".

Lighten-up, we all must be mindful that some Yahoo Answers account holder are children and adolescents and are therefore not aware, and or are ignorant to most basic fact's. Baby. Black ppl were not invented, we had dominion on earth long before white ppl. Civilization was bruised on our back (and yes I'm black). The Garden of Eden being in the Middle East of Africa had to have a dark race i.e (Adam and Eve) inhabitants due to the location. The question should be how did black people produce white off-springs?

And the Answer is--Isaac and Rebekah off springs Esau (light in color) Jacob (dark in color) are the white and black nation who are constantly at odds with each other.... one blessed the other cursed. Christ died for us all ,and we now all can receive his love and grace....

How did two people reproduce the human species without considerable incest and genetic anomalies?

There is no such thing as Adam and Eve, so this question won't have a satisfactory answer. Because Christianity was prominent in Western Europe, all depictions of Adam and Eve were pale and thin, often with light hair on Eve. Social/cultural context means everything in a religion, and its mythology is no exception.

No one knows for sure what color Adam and Eve were. Black people were not invented, people became different races when they started living in different parts of the world.
