Air bag fault? Need to know which airbag is your problem. Side air bags can be the plug connection under seat or wire harness in seat. Air bag in steering wheel is usually the winder, clocksping assembly under steering wheel. If you want the protection of your airbag system, you need to get it fixed.

Get to a code reader. A mechanic might be able to determine what is going on. You are fortunate. Some vehicles will not run with such a fault. Then again, it might be an error which will cause the air-bag to go off for no good reason. I doubt it, but it could. That by itself would cause a wreck if it happened while driving. You might consider it a safety issue.

And the question is what?
The light indicates you have a fault in your airbag circuit, and you are not protected in the event of an accident. Have it fixed.

It's either a sensor fault, or the airbag system itself is faulty (this could also affect seat belt pre-tensioners, if you have them).
Get it checked out by an official dealer immediately. If you don't, it could cost you your life.

i would suggest taking it to your local garage but you will probably need to get it checked at a dealership...better to be safe than sorry!

the air-bag system has explosives in the mechanism, if i were you i'd get to a Motor work shop asap.
get the mechanic to connect his diagnostic computer & see if there's a serious problem.
do it soon, eh?
a malfunction of the air-bag can be dodgy.
