The only stupidity lies in the thoughts of individuals who simplify entire groups of people with blanketing stereotypes.
I hate to tell you this, but I've known many extremely intelligent Christians, Muslims, Jews, Zoroastrians, Sikh, Hindus and the like, and at the same time, I've met many unbelievably ignorant atheists and agnostics.
I don't believe there is any correlation between beliefs and intelligence. Some individuals come to their beliefs by intellectual analysis, others for personal reasons, and others because they were simply born into it.
This is why it is silly when individuals try to assert conversion to a religion as 'proof' of a religion's veracity- anyone can be fooled, anyone can be touched, and anyone can weigh the evidence to arrive at any possible conclusion.
I believe what I believe, and I study it endlessly with honest concern. At the same time, many atheists will believe what they believe 'just because', and I've heard some terrible arguments coming from some of them.
This is not intended to prove my own or any other belief correct, but simply to show you that no group is 'right'; every group has its erudites and its imbeciles.
Unfortunately, when the one who accuses other groups of simplicity of thought and bigotry falls into this same practice, it is a very sad sight to observe.
Hope this helps, if not as a direct yes or no answer.

No, I would be more likely to consider you stupid if you didn't believe in the Judeo-Christian or Muslim God. Thinking that the bing bang theory and evolution contradict judeo-christian beliefs (I can't speak for muslims) is a mistake that mis-informed atheists often make. Much like vehement_chemical, most athiests have little clue as to what the bible really means.

Well, hate to say it, but I would simply doubt that you know about the Big Bang and evolution accurately. I do believe there are smart theists, but not many that understand the alternative explanations. Plus, if you believed in the Big Bang, and evolution, you are not a literalist in your interpretation of scripture. Since the scripture presents itself as the unadulterated plain truth, I couldn't respect you for not taking it literally. You would be half-assing your belief.

I do not consider anyone stupid if they made their choice according to their free and rational will whatever way, course or option they have chosen for themselves. It is stupid if someone would pick something like this second-handedly because I believe it must be a first class experience and not from hear say alone.

Course not! You have to make a religion work for you...otherwise people all around the world would have no personal purpose in going to mass, temple, etc. If it works for you...great! But not everybody agrees with you, so sometimes people just have to agree to disagree. Religion is a personal thing, with the goal of bringing a person closer to God. How you reach God is up to you...

Other than Christian, I would say you were simply deceived, not stupid.
That, or that you never truly took the time and effort to find out who Christ really is.
Religion really has no bearing on intelligence. On other things, yes.

My ideals have been formed by capacity of non-public adventure. I grew up interior the christian church yet whilst i began thinking for myself, i found out wait a minute who's anybody to tell me what occurs to ME after dying in the event that they have in no way experienced it. I became agnostic searching for solutions. yet with the aid of many reviews on psycho lively ingredients, and with the supernatural(the two brought on with the aid of intentional touch, and living in a house starting to be up with stuff shifting on its on, doorways shutting by capacity of themselves and so on.) i'm now 18 years old and am greater vulnerable to believing dying is the biggest "holiday" of all, and whilst it particularly is available in notwithstanding way i'm going to work out what occurs. Its extraordinary, i do no longer think of mainstream prepared faith has it ideal, i think of if there is an all efficient being(s) that they could't be calmly in part understood with the aid of some books compiled by capacity of mankind. a difficulty I even have with mankind is arrogance, and how particularly some human beings think of we are unique and have faith we are the only "smart" beings in an limitless universe and how god created purely us as some specific little element in the international. actuality is merely concept and hence open to interpretation, and could be altered to be greater effective understood. for all all of us understand our total universe could be a spec of dirt decrease than some ginormous beings fingernail, or our universe could be a million "bubble" of many floating around in nothingness colliding combining, or collapsing in on themselves. Its all hypothesis, yet sick take reviews and information gained decrease than the impression of hallucinogens over something in a e book written by capacity of guy any day of the week. =D

No, not stupid...
I'd have to see the effect your belief had on you and the way you treat others before making any further judgment.

This question has been asked ad nauseam.
If you believe in a particular deity, chances are extremely high that you were indoctrinated as an impressionable child. There's not necessarily any correlation to intelligence.

Heck no! Nobody's "stupid" IMO... just do things and live according to their own causes and conditions... if the beliefs lead one to wisdom, altruism and compassion, what difference the belief?
