There you go getting all existential on us!

What's next- the old "tree falling in the woods" riddle? :-p

I think we are whatever we want to be- I choose to be me online, so I am me. If I wanted to be anyone else then I would be. But I kind of like who I am, so I think I'll stick with what works for me :0)

What you pretend to be is also a distinctive feature of your personality, it is normal for most of us to behave a little different in certain situations or among certain people, the sum of all of this attitudes and behaviors is what defines you

But if you are pretending to be something, then aren't you actually being that something?

For example, if you are pretending to be funny, entertaining, and outgoing, but you are actually succeeding at being funny and entertaining to the people around you, then what is the difference between "seeming" and "being"? Where is the line?

What is the difference between "pretending" and "self growth"? If you are trying to force yourself to grow, is it really pretending anymore?

Maybe the difference is intent; if your sole purpose is to impress others, then it is pretending; if you are really trying to change yourself for the better, then it is self-improvement.

You are whomever you make yourself to be.
