Im conducting a brief survey, and am curious as to YOUR PERSONAL REASONS for belief in God. Please answer the following two questions:

1) WHY do you beleive in God?

2) WHY do you think OTHERS beleive in God?

(for ease in obtaining results, please label your responses numerically, and only address the posted questions. Also, please provide realistic answers for your beleifs - "because God is real" is not a realistic answer....I want to know what reasons you have for beleiving this. I thank you all in advance.)

NMever ceases to amaze me how few of you can follow simple directions.

If you dont respond to both questions, you get a thumbs down. If you dont enumerate your response, thumbs down.

Please, follow directions.

If you dont beleive in God, please do not respond - your opinion is not required for this survey. Also, if you dont beleive - dont insults those that do. Im an atheist myself, but at least I have a little respect for others!

1) Why do I believe in God? I don't have any specific reason. I was raised in a Christian family, so of course I got taught about the Bible and everything. My main reason is just having faith in something of a higher being. It really is all about faith.

2) Why do others believe in God? Many reasons. It could also just be faith. Maybe finding comfort that there is a super natural being greater than themselves. Having hopes of dying and going to a place of peace, there after life. The person maybe have just been raised with those beliefs.

1) I believe in God because that is the way I was taught and disciplined. Other than being raised in a Methodist and Russian Orthodox split family, I also have read things that stress the faith in God. But if I hadn't been raised around Christian beliefs, I suppose I wouldn't believe in God. It all started when I was younger and has been stressed since then.

2) I think others believe in God because, again, they were taught to worship Him since childhood. With all due respect to my beliefs, God, and other's, I really don't think if people a long time ago didn't stress Christianity and the worship of God & Jesus, we wouldn't today. Look at our society and our scene, it's filled with apathetic people, words and misconceptions.

But to the people of centuries ago, they are our roots of
Christianity.

I suppose I fit in the "other" category, so I'll take a shot at your questions.

1) WHY do you believe in God?
Why not?
Something bigger than me created all this life, this world, the universe and beyond.
You can call it a "god", or "creator" or "supreme being", but whatever "it" is, it defies human description and is worthy of awe and respect.

2) WHY do you think OTHERS believe in God?
There is a myriad of reasons - from fear to blind faith.

If i theory in extra Gods then i might want to might want to provide extra contributions to get into heaven and that i do exactly not take care of to pay for to pacify each and every of the religions of each and every of the Gods. So i'm putting my funds on what i imagine is the acceptable guess. that's is arbitrary that the wealthy can position extra bets than I! guess this signifies that the Gods bless the wealthy better than us negative adult adult males. Or it may also propose that each and every one the Gods are finished of crap. i'm confident that's the latter . . . yet i'm an fool so I save sending off my not ordinary earned funds to pacify the God of my faith . . . i do not fairly like wondering about how stupid my position is in this difficulty so i'm discontinuing this now!

I believe in God because I have never known a time when I did not feel His presence, even before I ever opened a bible.

I am now in my 50's and have been attending a very good bible teaching church for about a decade. I have come to know the character of God through my bible study and feel His presence even more intimately through this knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Can't say why others believe; they will have to tell you!

1) First, I believe in God, because I believe in the existence of God, because of all that is around me. Nature, Life...You just look at the mere complex beauty of it, and you cannot say there "is no God." It's too beautifully made, too wise that the caterpillar grows into a butterfly. Too smart that a bird will take care of its young. Too genius that there is a water cycle. This is why as a Christian, I can say: I believe in God, through faith.

2) I think others believe in God because of daily miracles, truths, pure joys, love, and hope. Most people hope for a omnipotent person, something to Hope in. I think this is good. Although I can confidently say I believe in God, not just for the fact that it's something Good to believe in but, he's truth.

1) Because there is too much beautiful order in the universe - from the sub-atomic to the arrangement of galactic superclusters - to not beleive that an intelligence grander than our own forged this reality.

2) I think many others believe out of tradition or upbringing or faith in scripture.

Hope that helps. Tried to be as honest as possible.

1. I believe in God because there is no other explanation to why everything that has happened has happened besides a non-wordly force. Thre are so many things that scientists say and try to prove, but there is no need to prove anything with God. He said it, did it, and is going to do it.
2. Of course there are the overdramatic shows that use "miracles" but so many people believe in God because they have been shown and explained to of his existence, and everything that has happened be it a miracle or whatever that points to his existence.

Because Jesus has made himself known to me would be the simplest answer. Honestly, If he hasn't made himself known to you, I could see why you wouldn't understand or believe. I also realize that until he has made himself known to you, there is no way I could convince you that he is real. On the other side of the coin, there is no possible way you could convince me that I am not right.
Now, why do you think I would believe? Do you think Christians are dumb for believing? For the record, I have a undergraduate degree in Physics and an MBA from one of the nations top graduate schools. Why do you suppose someone educated like me is 100% sure I am right?

1.Because I see Him all around me....
2.He has blessed me so many times...
3. He has answered many prayers...
4. The Universe gives testimony of Him...
5. The world is to well organized to be an accident...
6. Evolution is conflictive and has many mistakes...
The list could go on and on, but these are just a few reasons...

Why do I think others believe in God?
Because I have talked to fellow believers, and yes, even people who are not Christian, but they still believe in God, and they have told me so, and they live like if they believe in God also, so it is not something they are just saying.
