i personally dont see anything wrong with having someone who is a friend (a girl) with benefits....now i know people want to having a meaningful relationship nowadays, but if i have a friend who i loved dearly, and she feels the exact same way, and we can trust each other with doing "it" ...then can someone explain to me how come im getting such negative feedback with this? i have had three relationships, and they lasted a while, but didnt work out for a number of reasons. she has had 6, but they have fizzed out too. i think we both just click in everyway, shape and form and this has been going on over a year and it keeps getting better! so why are so many people frowning about something that WORKS!?!

If it works than don't worry about what other people think. Just remember that when you are in that kind of situation you have to communicate with each other clearly and frequently about how you are feeling. Emotions can get all tangled up with sex even when you're sure they aren't involved. She may be feeling one way one week and another the next week. Also, even though it seems like you trust each other with the sexual part be sure that you are responsible. It's very possible to have a mistake and a pregnancy can cause all kinds of unwanted drama between you two and everyone around you.

If it works for you then I agree with you, why not? I think the prevailing fear is that things will "change" once a sexual dynamic enters the framework of the friendship. But things change anyway under all sorts of random circumstances, so you're no worse off for trying to make this work than some other conventional arrangement. Good luck to you.

I saw a poll where more people said that friends with benefits just make things more complicated. Alot of people probably just don't understand if you think her and you click so much then why don't you just ask her out.

it shouldnt be a "friend with benefits" if u guys like eachother then u should go out. not just being friends. maybe it will work out really well and u will stay together forever.
