When i was a teenager i was only interested in very tall guys, but now that i'm a bit older i can't stop fantasizing about how it would feel like to be with a shorter guy. I can't stop thinking about it and the more i think about it, the more examples i come up with of guys i didn't wanna go out with in the past cause they were shorter than me. I feel so stupid now, i really can't forgive myself for those misjudgements. Of course i didn't insult them or dump them, it's just that when they showed interest in me, i didn't show interest in them cause i thought it was somehow wrong or inappropriate to be with a guy who is shorter than the girl.

I'm 5ft11. And i didn't say "short". I said "shorter". With this i mean shorter than i am, like between 5ft5 and 5ft9.

In answer to your direct question, it's because you grew up and started seeing people for who they really are rather than as "arm candy trophies" to show off.

The movie Shallow Hal is based on just this principle. The male lead learns a valuable lesson.

Forgive yourself for your misjudgments. At the time, that's what you thought. Now that you're more mature and wise, you know it's not for you anymore.

And do go out with shorter men - after all, good things come in small packages. Just make sure he's worthy - as in intelligent, considerate, has goals, values and faith.

You know all those cliches about not judging books by their covers and beauty begins on the inside and such? Well, they're true. You'd be surprised at how giving someone a deeper look can reveal a real hidden treasure.

In the past you might have got more attention from people when you where with a taller guy because it looks more normal, and not much chance of people making fun of a tall gal with a shorter guy. but size doesn't matter, it what you feel toward the person that should matter. I'm 6' 1'' tall and the love of my life was only 4' 5'' and people looked at of funny but that was no reason for me to worry.

High school is a very judgemental time period for a lot of people, which causes them to be persuaded by what is "the cool thing" to do. Society, when you were in high school, probably led you to the misconception that it was bad for girls to be with guys that are shorter. Well, that is just not the case! I always say... The best things come in small packages!! So, forget about how tall a guy is, all that truly matters is if he cares for you and if he truly loves you... Good luck, girlfriend! Go get em!

I hate to bring up the "Daddy syndrome", but how tall was your father?

Generally, our ideal mate's body type/size is set when you're between 3-4, usually by someone who had a big impact on us. That could be a parent, a teacher, or anyone else we came across. Psychology doesn't truly understand it, but most of them agree that our predisposition to a certain type of mate is set early on.

I really doesn't matter why. All that matters is that you're happy with whatever choice you make - tall, short, big, little - whatever. Find someone that you're happy with and stick with them!

Good luck!

That's ok. You answered your own question. Now look forward. I'm dating a girl who is taller than me, and she's really into me. She calls me her lion... haha.
Just think about it : what u were looking for was a strong guy, but u thought u were looking for a tall guy, thinking to yourself a tall guy is a strong guy... It's obvious, right ?
But now you know what you want and life won't be the same. Never too late. So...

You know, people change through the years. When you were a teenager its completely understanding that you had different feelings, many things change through some years. So just get on with it, its completely normal, its not that much of a hard question. It can happen to everyone.

Tastes change, or maybe you've had enough bad experiences with egocentric tall guys and want to give the short guys a try.

My wife is taller than I am and we have been married for 34 years. Everybody in my wife's family is tall. Even my mother-in-law was taller than me.

I have always liked women that I could look up to. I adore tall women.

you've probably always preferred shorter guys but dated taller guys because that is what society finds attractive as a whole.
