I cannot afford surgery. Before my pregnancy I had a normal stomache. Will I ever be able to get it back with simple diet and exercise? I had a C section and the excess skin and weight droops at my lower waist. I've never had this problem before. Help!

Actually you can get back into pre-pregnancy shape. You just need to remember it will take time since your body has undergone a huge change and experience.

Start out slowly, even 5 minutes a day can be beneficial in the early days and build up to 30 minutes of fast walking 5 days per week. If you feel any pain or dizziness stop until you feel you can get home safely, then speak to your doctor about it.

Walking round the block with your baby in their pram is a great first exercise. Once you have established a contact through your mothers group you could get together and exercise.

Many yoga and pilates classes are designed for women who have recently given birth. Most gyms also a day care so you can bring your baby. Make sure you advise your instructor that you have just had a baby as they may suggest modified exercises for you.

Eating a sensible diet is sometimes difficult with a newborn. The feeling of chronic tiredness can make your body crave sugar. Try to resist the urge and grab a piece of fruit instead of the tea bun brought to you by well meaning friends. If you are breastfeeding your body will require extra energy.

Adequate warm-up and cool down before and after each exercise session are extremely important for your body. Begin by walking and doing a few light stretching exercises.

Crunches 2 sets of 20
Lay on back, bend knees, arms on your stomach. Lift your head and shoulders enough to clear the floor. Try not to use your neck/head to help you lift (it is very hard! Especially since my stomach is so soft!).

Reverse crunches 2 sets of 15
Lay on back in crunch position, lift your legs off the floor (so you're tucked). The crunch action is to lift your knees toward chest, lifting butt off the floor. You'll feel it in your lower abdomen.

Your best bet is going a gym honestly pilates and yoga are perfect for tummy problems.

Good luck

I think that you can tone your stomach. Look at all the celebrities that have had children and have toned their bodies back to where they were. Running helps as well as ab exercises. You could always get a trainer and have him/her help you out. Good luck :)

find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Both exercise and surgery. Tone up the muscles and be healthy and make sure the surgeon has a phenomenal reputation.

at least you have something to show for yours. I have a pouch and no kids. Excess skin can only be removed by surgery.
