creative editing and lucasfilms can make anything reality. i don't find it hard to believe that a thinktank could come up with a semi-plausible story, find people who would benefit from said story and throw their support behind it, rationalize a campaign to present this story to the public and discredit those who don't buy it, and finally (the worst part) create a reality, complete with impeccable timing, to make this story come true on the news at 6 pm every night..

there's a winner, there are many losers, and the rest of us will never know what hit us..

Maybe we should sit with our tin foil hats on and wait for the aliens to come and get us as well..

Honestly, where are people getting this stuff? A nation that does not protect it's people fails at a fundamental level. None of this is 1984 ish, it is called the world we live in.

Terrorism is not the problem, it is the choosen avenue for people to try and force change. Radical Islam is the problem, Clerics given free reign in foreign countries is a problem, Oil coming from terror rich countries is a problem.

You can spend your time weaving conspiracy theories, or you can work toward a solution to this mess we live in right now. Start by educating yourself to the facts.

The Jihadists are not a figment of the imagination but a stone cold reality, and it is THEY who are playing us like the pieces on a chess board. The Mujahideen in Afghanistan, under bin Ladens leadership, took on the mighty USSR, and won (with some help from the good ol' USA). Still high from this victory, OBL offered up his fighters to Saudi Arabia when Iraq invaded Kuwait, but was turned down in favor of a U.S. led coalition. Turned down by his mother country in favor of the infidel, the very infidel which he has sworn from day one to remove from Saudi soil. Ever since, al Queda has been trying to draw us in to a "war" with them with attacks that grow increasing harder for the United States to ignore (the first attack on the WTC, the embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania, the attack on the U.S.S. Cole). With the horribly successful, multiple attacks on 911, OBL and the Jihadists finally got what they wanted. They drew out the United States military into a war on two fronts, wars which legitimize their stance, which raises their status from free lance terrorists to soldiers in a great battle against the souless Americans. We were forced into it but make no mistake, OBL and the rest of the Jihadists saw clearer than we did how our presence in the middle east could be used to inflame Islamic fanaticism to their advantage. They may not be willing to blow themselves up for their cause, but in a region where the oil wealth is squandered by a few while the rest live in poverty and Allah is not some abstract concept to be mulled over in the local cafe but an absolute reality, it isn't hard to find young men and women willing to kill themselves and others for the greater glory of God and a direct path to heaven. If given the chance they will put a nuke right smack in the middle of Washington, D.C. Don't ever doubt it.

I struggle with this 1984-ish thought. Is "Terrorism" really just the entity used to keep us at bay to the ever growing government? How long will it be before we've handed over all of our civil liberties and are 100% ddependent on our government? I often hope that I am just paranoid...
