Bo&Zo really ****** up, getting the USA involved in wars inside Islam.
Now the world's #1 superpower has been shown to be a paper tiger and the savage lunatic terrorists and Muslim Jihad smell blood. There's no way the USA is going to win (whatever a win would be?) over there. No way.
And when, not if, they lose all of USA interests in the whole Middle East will be in peril and Islamic Jihad will be empowered more than ever.
This is by far the worst blunder ever in American foreign policy and military history because the consequences of losing over there will be way worse than Vietnam.

A couple of early respondants hit it right on the head. With these nut cases, things are going to go BOOM either way. Now turn off CNN and examine the real facts. When things go BOOM, it consistantly happens there, not here. This is the preferred outcome. Kind of self-obviating, isn't it?

I don't believe the US is a paper tiger. There have been so many restraints put on our armed forces that they cannot function well enough to do their job. I heard on the news today that the CIA turned two excellent ways to help troops combat the booby traps, and they turned it down We are trying to fight a guerrilla war and still remain PC. The frustration of the troops must be at a high level. Fighting a war with handcuffs and each war it gets it worse and worse. Is it the liberals, the conservatives, the Joint Chiefs, or the Congress. I thought the idea of war was to win and you do and use all means to do so. I would love to read a current copy of the Rules of Engagement. What an oxymoron that is! Perhaps the generals should go back to the library and start reading up on the type of war we are fighting.
Authors such as van Creveld and of course the master of the all Sun Tzu. There are books written by members of the NVA and VC writing on how to fight a guerrilla war.

They gave Obama a complete report on Afghanistan and at Obama's suggestion the plans for Afghanistan does no longer be applied until eventually Obama took workplace. After he took workplace Obama categorized the plan as his own and is now declaring Bush and Cheney left the country intense and dry. that's basically yet another LIE by Obama and his team. Get some data rather of the Obama team propaganda.

So what was your solution? Wait for the next attack? How many times from the 1970's (thanks Jimmy Carter for those memories) until 9/11 did they attack us? We were in a war with them long before Iraq & Afghanistan.
The people of Iran have one of the highest opinions of the USA. Why? Because we have stood up to the dictator, Islamo fascists that run that country. The people we have set free (Iraq & Afghanistan) thank us. Remember the Kurdish ads on TV?
So what is your solution? How about you and all of the other defeatist start saying "We won't lose, we won't back down, we support our President, and as long as you use violence against us we will fight back!". What do you think would happen to terrorists will to fight if we all did that?

Actually, what they did was to OVERestimate the courage and integrity of Liberals in the United States.
Bush and Cheney haven't changed, but the Liberals sure have. They've gone from supporting the war to denying that they ever supported the war.
I think Bush and Cheney erred in not foreseeing this. Personally, I'm surprised that it took as long as it did.

There is some evidence that the invasion of Iraq was planned even before the 9/11 attack. The war in Afghanastan started well because we used the Northern Tribes to do the fighting, backing them up with airpower. However, the Iraq war has caused us to lose focus on finding bin Laden, and has required an alliance with Pakistan, which no doubt is where he is hiding. Rumsfeld is said to have remarked that we needed the Iraq war because only there were there targets worthy of our bombs. The total truth will emerge after Bush leaves office if the Democrats enlarge their congressional majorities, and can conduct far-reaching hearings and investigations.

I'm not sure that anyone accurately predicted the religious idiocy of Islamics. These cowards use women and children to kill us, and other Muslims. Shiites hate the Sunnis and Sunnis hate the Shiites. There is no honor in either of them. Even after Nam, the US is not used to fighting cowards without honor
