This is a fundamental flaw in man's thinking.
He supposes God can be grasped by the mind.
God is a Spirit. Those that experience God can only do so in the sphere of the spirit.
You must be born again.

Well honestly the Creator was, is and will always be so who created the creator? The creator, created itself.
How could have God always been? How could hierarchies always been has there ever been a time w/o a hierarchy? no why because it started w/ the creator.
How can the finite being every fully comprehend an infinite being?
The answer is the finite can NEVER comprehend the infinite. You know the saying knowledge is infinite? That is because true and total knowledge is the Creator. With that said we could never truly comprehend the infinite because none of us has been alive long enough to attain all the knowledge in the universe which is what is needed to truly know the finite (creator). Hope that helps.

Those are awesome questions that you have brought up. Where did God come from? Did he always exist? From reading of scripture, we can see that S/He has existed since time began but as organised religion did not come into being until just a few thousand years ago, we cannot really answer that question. And we cannot prove the existence or non-existence of God either just from our experiences.
Also, good point you raised is that people do not live forever so they cannot understand the infinity of God. But because we are humans and do not use our full brain power, I highly doubt we would be able to comprehend an infinite being if we did live longer.

The mind has to write it off as nonsense. All our senses, knowledge, understanding and wisdom are finite. An infinite existing spirit such as God cannot be comprehended by our finite sences. To the human mind God is a no(n)-sence.

These are natural questions (the same ones that led me away from all organized religion) and they have the same validity as other questions.
There are many answers, but none in a book.
The best way I can think of to answer these and other questions ( like do aliens exist? where did the image of woman come from?) I simply remember one basic truth:
Just because He didn't tell you about it, doesn't mean it isn't true. No where in the bible does it say that on June 20, 2007, a child will be born and his name will be John. His mother will be Jane and his father is not her husband, James. It is the pool boy, Fred.
Just because it is not written does not make it false. There are many truths to which we will become aware in due time.
Patience is still a virtue.

A finite mind can only understand "what" The Creator "wants" them to understand.
A finite mind cannot comprehend the workings of the creator "unless" The creator "chooses" to reveal such.
It's "nonsense" to the created, Ultimate knowledge, power, and wisdom of the Creator.
In other words "we are stupid" and beleive we have all the answers , cling to our "selfs" for wisdom and ignore the creator.
Tells all about it in the Bible.

My thoughts parallel yours. While we are quite able to understand all manner of complex things, I do not think we can fully wrap our brain around the concept of a being that has always existed. After all, we are humans. Surely it would be presumptuous to believe we could understand every single thing about a creator!
Moreover, scientists plainly state that the universe is infinite . . . going on and on. Why is it not within the realm of possibility that the one who created that universe is from everlasting to everlasting as well?
You are right, just because a thing does not make sense to us does not mean it is nonsense.
P.S. Do they call you Mellow Yellow? Sorry, could not resist. Your fault for sticking the song in my head. :)

Occasionally, I am asked by one of my Bible students about whether life on earth would become boring if we lived forever.. These are the scriptures that I share with them that is also relevant to this. Ecclesiastes 3:11 and 8:14. Just as we can live forever without learning all there is to know about creation, the same can be said of the Creator. Not that we can not get to know him intimately. In fact James 2:23 refers to Abraham as Jehovah's friend. We can enjoy such a friendship also. But, living forever, we will continue to learn of more and more facets of God's personality. This is not hard for me to believe since I have been married 34 years and am still learning things about my husband.

Verily, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and in the alternation of the night and the day, and in the ships which sail in the sea with that which profits men, and in the water which Allah sends down from the sky and quickens therewith the earth after its death and scatters therein all kinds of beasts, and in the change of the winds and the clouds pressed into service between the heaven and the earth - are indeed Signs for the people who use their understanding.

I dont know where your walk is in Christ but if you read the book of Job God speaks to Job and tells him who is he to question him? Where we Job when God created the heavens and the earth? where was Job when God created the animals etc? So another words who are we to question God when God yet created you, shouldnt that be a blessing that he chose you to be here on earth with him in unity that you may walk and talk with him? Your question is not one that is not common but very common but we should not question one who created his own people that he gave his son because he loved you so much that he died for you so you can hopefully make it in heaven with him and sit with him. If you ever read the book of Job go to chapter 38 and read it I think this might help you understand. You sound like a job right now, but that is ok, I will pray that you will receive your answer, God bless you and remember I love you!!

Its kind of the same thing as saying how could the universe always have been?
Yes indeed the human mind is far too unsophisticated to comprehend such a thing, but if there was a 'one true god'
then i doubt we could comprehend anything about him, say...the bible, or even know he exist, personally i think he would rather not get involved directly at all just poof us in and see how we do.
