Try dish washing liquid or olive oil. Twist off instead of pulling.

I'd suggest trying liquid dish soap; be sure NOT to do this over the sink, as you don't want the rings going down the drain! If all else fails, the rings can be cut off by a jeweler (I had to have this done after an accident in which my hand was injured) using a special tool that protects the hand while still cutting through the rings. If the rings aren't terribly tight, though, the liquid soap should do the trick.

Hold your hand above your head for as long as possible, so the blood can drain down into your arm. Then get some lotion or liquid dish soap and put it around your finger, then slide the ring off.

Run hand under cool/cold water to reduce swelling. After a few minutes put liquid dish detergent on finger and slide the ring off! Best to you! ;-)=

If none of the above remedies work you can go to your local Fire Department and they can cut the ring off. If you're unsure of a close FD you can call a nearby ER and make sure they are equipped with a ring cutter, and that they won't charge you for a full visit, and get it cut off there.

slide the ring as far back on your finger as you can.

Take some dental floss and wrap it around your finger from about the second knuckle to the ring.

thread the floss through the ring if you can

slide the ring off while unwrapping the dental floss.

The floss should compress your finger enough to get the ring off.

Place hands in warm water for a few minutes, rub vaseline or oil/oily cream and masage a little.
Alternatively, use a heat pad which you warm in microwave and wrap your hand in it after you apply a liberal amount of rich cream. It will both lubricate between the ring and your skin (massage a little), and the heat will assist the swelling to go down.

soak your hand in ice water. That should take some of the swelling down. If that isn't enough, grease your finger with Crisco and slide the ring off. Get it off before you cut the circulation off in your finger and they have to cut it, and perhaps the finger, off.

soak the finger in epsom salt with warm water to reduce the swelling then put some vaseline on it to see if the ring will slide off

Try soap or butter. (you can always clean your finger and ring later!)

PS- Heat does NOT make swelling go down as previously stated by someone else!
