It's all the poor things really have to look forward to. Even they don't believe their own BS for the most part.

Because it is! We were given signs in Matt. ch. 24 and other places. Only God knows when specifically it will be but, as 2 Peter 3:9 shows," Jehovah is not slow respecting his promise as some consider slowness, but he is patient with you because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentence." Matt. 24:14 says the good news of God's Kingdom is to be preached over all the earth. It does not say to convert everybody, only be notified of what is to happen.
It is near, the planet cannot take much more.

How sad is it that people look forward to the total and complete annihilation of the planet? I think it causes problems, like 'Why worry about global warming. The end times are coming!' instead of taking action.

The exact end of time has been very accurately predicted every couple of years since the stone age.
When one date fuzzles out, a new very accurate and positive prediction is made.
I've personally lived through quite a few of them.

Ministers preach the whole Bible from Genesis to Revelation. Not just end times.

No, it's not a scare tactic. It's a rescue operation. :)
1Th 5:1¶But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
1Th 5:2For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
1Th 5:3For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
1Th 5:4But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
1Th 5:5Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
1Th 5:6Therefore let us not sleep, as [do] others; but let us watch and be sober.
2Pe 3:10¶But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
2Pe 3:11[Seeing] then [that] all these things shall be dissolved, what manner [of persons] ought ye to be in [all] holy conversation and godliness,
2Pe 3:12Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
2Pe 3:13Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
2Pe 3:14¶Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

Because we so want our Savior to come get us, finally, it makes it easy to see the signs in anticipation of that glorious day. Also we are trying to help others be ready for we do not know when it will happen and we want our loved ones with us in Heaven.

Maybe Christians hate their lives and want it to end, but their religion tells them suicide is a sin, so they take hope that god will assist their suicide.
