Personally I think it will be fabulous! I will be looking for some pics and thinking of creative ideas for you to personalize it all! Is the theme of the wedding going with the opera theme, since it's in an opera theatre?
I LOVE this cake!

I found this dress at White House black Market, it's awesome and I think with a bouquet of Red Roses or another vibrant red flower, this would be stunning!

Since you are having the event in a theatre for operas, why not play off of the opera theme. Have it very old school opera house like! Have decorations that would have been used for operas, etc. Even if you could find old opera posters (not tacky cheap looking, but nice and elegant) it would work to have these around the theatre, or event o replace what may already be hanging inside the theatre.

See the picture I found, think something like this, with a new classic twist!

It sounds very elegant. White dresses with black stitching are my favorite. Not sure what you're going to do with the red. Have you thought maybe going with red dresses for the bridesmaids? Red roses for the groomsmen boutonnieres, and i mean deep red. You could always have a red carpet down the aisle. But i think that small bundles of red roses accented with white calla lillies or some other elegant flower like that would look absolutely beautiful! Another idea is the cake being black with white "stitching" - just opposite of your dress...and to add a pop to it...make it a red velvet cake. So you would have all the colors. Not sure if you have the food network...but the show Ace of Cakes should give you great ideas for a wedding cake. Good luck and hope you have a wonderful wedding day!

the black, white, and any color wedding and the chocolate brown weddings are becoming the hottest new wedding trends. I have been to tons of weddings that use this and it comes out looking lovely hun. You should have an easy time researching it and finding things. If you aren't experienced with using color it is a good, safe, scheme too because you can't really mess it up.
For me it's kind of like the candy bars. Used to be fun and new but now its getting overdone. I don't want people to look at my wedding pics and go "that was sooo 2000's" like they did with the baby blue and pink in the 80s.
I used paint chips from the hardware store to come up with a color scheme I loved that fit with my season. If the black, white, and red is that scheme for you then I say use it! It doesn't matter if we here at Y!answers think it is the ugliest thing since ugly as long as you and your fiancee think its great.

i think it would be OK but you have too much color going. I would leave it at back and white just to keep it uniform. I think the only way to get away with the three colors is to have the girls in all blk and the guys in blk tux with red vest or cucumber bands. and the girls could wear like red necklace with red ear rings. You can pull it off but it will take a lot of accessorizing. Weddings are no longer all white colors are very becoming and they make great pictures too. Good luck with the wedding and congrats. It is your day do what ever feels good to your soul.

Very elegant. I would assume that it would be an evening ceremony and a night reception since the colors tend to shout "formal affair", so be sure you arent getting married in the morning!
Have you seen the episode of Whose wedding is it anyway where they had the balck white and red wedding? It was cool, their reception was in a museum where the floor was also black and white marble, but again it was a VERY formal event. Very cool.

That sounds GORGEOUS...Those three colours all go together so why not? Maybe Red brides maid dresses, with red and white roses mixed together in a vase for the tables. Your wedding cake could be red velvet with white icing! perhaps some black and red plates to serve the food on..Endless possibilities! Hope I helped

I think it can be very beautiful! In fact, my daughter is getting married in October, and is going with black & white, with red roses as an accent.
Her dress is white with a black sash. The bridesmaids will wear white satin dresses with a black organza overlay. The men will wear black on black tuxes...the groom will have a white long tie, and the groomsmen will have white bow ties.
The bride will carry red roses, and the groom will have a red rose boutonnière. The bridesmaids will carry white princess roses, and the groomsmen will have white rose boutonnières.
The tables will be covered with white table cloths, and black napkins. The chairs will have white covers with black sashes. For table decorations, we will have a black napkin unfolded in the middle of the table round, with white flower petals scattered across the table.

I'm very partial to black, white & red-classic, elegant and simple! Some of the dresses I've seen with that theme are breathtaking. If that's what you & your fiance want, go for it! It should be an easy theme to pull off too.

It is a pretty idea, but I've seen it quite often. Black and white is very common right now, and brides like to jazz that up by adding a splash of color. That color is usually red. If you're okay with it being unoriginal, then its great.

Some people would disagree with you, saying its too morbid and dark having black, but if thats what you like you should do it. I personally dont think theres anything classier than a black and white wedding!
By the way the dress is gorgeous!
