Yes it's very bad. It is very difficult for their bodies to digest cheese and it takes a long time. The cheese could create a stomach blockage that prevents food from going through the digestive track and ultimately the dog will begin throwing it up because there isn't any place else for the food to go. Stick to feeding your dog a highly digestible dry dog food. Make sure the first ingredient is a meat product. Dry dog food helps scrape off plaque and tartar build-up and strengthens the gum to prevent peridontis disease. Dogs are not like people and do no require a variety of food. Any change of food puts strain on their digestive track so stick to one thing and one thing only.

A little bit is okay.
When we adopted Benson in December, he had a UTI and the vet put him on antibiotics. She told me I could wrap the pill in a piece of cheese so he would take it better.
When I told her I had heard cheese was bad for dogs, she told a little bit is fine, but not to feed them a whole block of cheddar cheese because it could cause constipation.

puppy? I don't know. maybe a teeny piece and that is all.

once in a great while, but why bother, its like eating one potato chip, would you really want someone to do that to you?

wait until he is older, cheese is given in dog food so it can't be that harmful, but like anything people food is not good for dogs cause the food is provided with all the nutrients for him and any other food can throw it all off.

Especially a puppy who needs everything at this point, I say just stick with the dog food.

You should get the pup some Lactaid Cheese, go to Whole foods and get some lactose reduced, or give him goat cheese, which is more easily digestible. I suppose you are giving it to the pup to take a pill?

I give mine her acidophilus and lactobacillius pill wrapped in a piece of cheese every day. Just one 1/4 of a piece of cheese per day. I only give it so she will take her pill.

Our vet recommended that we feed very little, if any, people food to our dogs. They love cheese, but it can cause them to get "the runs". Cheese flavored dog treats are better for them and still gives them the cheese flavor they love.

You can, but should you- no. Dogs are lactose intolerant. They can't digest it properly, so it causes stomach upset. It can cause quite a problem if it progresses to pancreatitis.

I wouldn't feed it. Get some dehydrated/freeze dried liver treats. Dogs love them and they aren't bad for them to have as treats... Notice I said treats, not as a large part of their diet.

Good luck.

No - as long as the cheese is on a sesame seed bun on top of a beef patty, with tomato, lettuce and mayo. Side order of fries and diet coke
