I was born with a dental condition where one has many extra teeth. I had so many that my x-ray looked like popcorn thrown into it. I believe they removed like 30 and I still had my permanent teeth. So yes I have heard of people having extra teeth. The surgeons in 1973 didn't do the greatest job on me as my case was the first they had ever treated so down the road as I aged my teeth became lose and today I have dental implants.

This rare condition is called Cleidocranial Dysplasia.

But my children were born with the same condition and the dentists did an amazing job on their teeth. They each have hollywood smiles.

A person has 20 baby teeth called the primary dentition. Over time, those are replaced by the 32 teeth of adult teeth called a permanent dentition. You didn't have 16 extra teeth. You had 16 out of 20 of your primary teeth removed. Not all people lose their baby teeth naturally; they need to be removed, like you.
