well, i am biased but i think it wouldnt change much because the catholic church is too deeply embedded in its own dogmatic masculine power struggles to really care one way or the other. the fact that women are portrayed as insignifigant and or evil in the bible does nothing to improve my outlook on the roman catholic church. if you are interested in mary magdaline's story, there are several books available.

I could not find this out-it could not possibly be true. I know enough about church history to imagine what "could" be true and what is pure fiction. Mary Magdalene was dead nearly 350 years before the first roots of the catholic church were possibly planted. She could not have written any book of the Bible because we know when each NT book was written, and the OT canon was closed. There were 5 NT books in question in some of the churches early on in the 2nd century. No books that were not part of the 66 book Bible we use today, were ever considered part of the Bible except by a very few.
This is really a dead issue in reference to the Bible. The history of the catholic church is colorful enough to be grounds for some speculation on that issue, but not on the text.

After a protracted inspiration of an correct reply, i determined to permit a comfortable madison quote mighty voice my ideas: "Mr. Madison, what you have simply stated is without doubt one of the so much insanely idiotic matters I have ever heard. At no factor for your rambling, incoherent reaction had been you even almost something that might be regarded a rational inspiration. Everyone on this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no features, and would possibly God have mercy for your soul." in end: Catholics don't pray to idols, nor do they worship Mary. Where does the bible insruct to invite others to hope for you? The Pope isn't given divine popularity. The bible offers the Pope vigor and credibility, see Matthew sixteen:18. do not take a look at the petros/petra rebuttal, there used to be no change in Koine Greek. indulgences? you're mindful that is 2008 correct? purgatory has not anything to do with infants, it is purification earlier than Heaven. you are pondering(if you'll name it that) of limbo once more, folks aren't praying to the statue to any extent further than you are praying to a snapshot. realistic reply is catholics do not worship idols. They do do not forget salvation comes from Christ, besides they think they will have to additionally actively paintings to do well in Christ's title alternatively of sitting at the laptop making part-baked claims approximately different Christians.

If that were true, the Church wouldn't be too much more or less legitimate than it is now, especially considering that Constantine probably deserves more credit for starting the Catholic Church than any of the apostles.

What if we found out that the earth really is flat?

What if my pencil grew wings and flew to Florida?

The Catholic Church has one purpose, to get us to Heaven.

If Jesus wanted Mary Magdalene to start the Church, she would have, Fact is, she did not.

Peace!

No. No more than any other work of fiction (like the "Wizard of Oz" or "Alice in Wonderland") would have.

The "Holy Blood/Holy Grail" and "DaVinci Code" nonsense is fictional. Nice fiction....but fiction, none the less.
