first of all that's Cantonese and eastern. Cantonese is a dialect of chinese language regularly spoken in Hong Kong and surrounding areas. The first rate language of China is Mandarin meaning there is a great number of distinction in terms of sentence structures, words and so on. yet many stuff are user-friendly so they could be as diverse to a minimum of one yet another as e.g. Hindi and Gujarati in India. eastern is an altogether diverse language while Cantonese follows the classic chinese language character and Mandarin, user-friendly chinese language alphabet (observed as Kanzi character), eastern follows that's very own character set. additionally, very few words are user-friendly between eastern and chinese language languages. you may say the diversities are as obtrusive as e.g. Punjabi and Tamil.

Cantonese is a regional people in part of China. It is also one of the languages spoken in China, the other prevalent one being Mandarin. Cantonese people live on the coast and in Hong Kong. Chinese people are the ones who are more centrally located in China, such as the capital city of Beijing. And Japanese people, of course, are from Japan, which (I hope you already know this) is a whole different Asian country. Japanese people and Chinese people may initially look a little similar to people who don't know their backgrounds, but their cultures are actually quite different. Their food, traditional style of dress, folklore, etc. is all different. Comparing Chinese people to Japanese people is like comparing Americans to the French- yes, we may initially look somewhat similar, but we have totally different languages, culture, and food.

Uh... Let me get out the chart here, sweetie...

Chinese people... *taps with ruler* are from China, right here. Japan... *taps* is right above, right here. THAT'S where Japanese people are from. And Canton... *taps again* is a part of China. So Cantonese people are a Chinese ETHNIC group. *Spins chart* Of course, many Chinese, Japanese, and Cantonese people were born in AMERICA. *Taps* So they are Chinese-American, Japanese-American, and Cantonese- or Chinese-American.

They also happen to have different cultures and languages.
