Yes carrots can be an OK snack for dogs in moderation. You need to make sure that they don't get to many as carrots are a vegetable that has more sugars than some, and the dog can not digest the cell structure of a raw carrot so all they get is the sugars.

Absolutely a wonderful treat. Well done! Dogs need veggies just like us. And they're good for keeping their teeth clean, the carotene is good for eyesight. Don't stop at carrots. My new 1 yr old lab loves cucumber, tomatoes, mashed potato, spinach, peas, beans, (especially frozen!) Yummie PeaPops!

Carrots are safe, but just remember, with most root veggies, the cellulose is hard for them to break down effectively, so you should not give all the time. If you are looking for the nutritional benefits of it, you should juice them. That way the cellulose is already broken down.

Yes, my veterinarian actually suggests them as a healthy treat, instead of "milk bones". My dogs both eat carrots and green beans, that's a part of their diet, to help them lose weight.
