I can tell you why I wouldn't. My current vehicle isn't bad on gas and has a few more good trouble free years left. When I do get a new vehicle I won't get a hybrid because I have not seen anything that meets my family/work needs that comes in a hybrid. I have also met 2 people that have one and they have yet to see the great gas mileage that has been promised. The car makers claim a certain mileage that is based on the government formula not actual mileage. So the car that says it gets 50 highway gets a real mileage of 28-35. I don't think that justifies the inflated prices.
This may not be politically correct but it is just the truth and as for the environment I do a lot as far as my families consumption of natural resources with knowledge and what is best for my family.
I chose disposable diapers rather than the detergents and bleach and water usage of washing cloth and cloth was something that would cost much more in the end.

i don't have a hybrid, yet I even have heavily considered one interior the previous. gas expenditures are an argument with me. I additionally like how they no longer as pollectible and hence are additionally greater effective for those with hypersensitive reactions. i could prefer to work out a real hybrid that has the positive bells and whistles in a wagon type vehicle or a small SUV. one element that i'm nevertheless debating isn't any remember if it particularly is larger to shop funds on gas by capacity of utilising a hybrid with finding out to purchase the hybrid option up front (hybrids generally value slightly greater effective than a similar vehicle) or to get a nicer greater effective vehicle yet pay greater for gas each and each week. it particularly is a toss up, imo. motherinprincess

How is this a relationship question?
Why should you buy one? eh why not - if you want alternative fuels to become a reality one day then there has to be profit in companies pursuing those avenues - and one way to do that is to buy hybrid cars.
Also you spend less money at the pump... but usually this is offset by the increased cost of the car itself... it's a gamble either way but I would say the best reason for it is to incentivise the market so that the companies building these cars will have a revenue driver for improving alternative fuel technologies.

Didn't you hear? The news TODAY said that the production of a SINGLE hybid car generates MORE pollution than the production of a single Hummer. So, if you want a hybrid, you CLEARLY want to pollute the world! *laughter*
