I was diagnosed with high blood pressure a couple of years ago. Diet and stress play a big role, I stopped using salt, watched my diet, and made sure I got 6 to 8 hours of sleep every night. My pressure is a lot lower, but, it's still a kind of high.

We live in a society where it is acceptable to get high blood pressure and is attributed to the aging process.
Horse pucky!
High blood pressure is due to the modern diet. We rely on systemic enzymes to get rid of scarring and aging tissues in our organs and everywhere in order to replenish healthy tissues.
Systemic enzymes come from raw plant foods. Do we eat enough of those? No, we don't anymore.
High blood pressure are the arteries through the kidneys building up scar tissue which creates poor blood flow. Rather than taking a drug, take systemic enzyme supplements and start eating right.

High blood pressure may have various
reasons. There may be something wrong with the
kidneys, the heart, or the bloodvessel system.
But sometimes it helps when you drink at least
2 liters of water per day.
Which is too high? Is it the systolic or diastolic reading?
When the diastolic reading is too high, it's considered
by doctors to be more problematic than (sometimes) a high systolic result.
Best thing would be to consult your doctor. 140/90 would
almost still be normal, although 90 is the limit.
Avoid coffee and cigarettes, cut down your salt consump-
tion. Have your kidneys examined by a urologist (blood test),
and your heart by a cardiologist if necessary.

no. high blood pressure is a result of poor genetics, poor dietary habits, stressful life, smoking and lack of daily exercise. all of these impact whether or not you'll suffer from high blood pressure there is no single one thats greater than the others except for maybe genetics because there's no way to correct that. all you can do is make sure your doctor finds it early so you can begin treatment to keep it under control. you could have someone who's exercised and ate well their whole lives getting high blood pressure later on just because they have bad genes. also, you could have someone who eats garbage, sits on their butt all day, smokes, ect...but who has good genes and won't ever have a problem with high blood pressure.

Although its more common for middle age and older to have high BP, it is not uncommon to see teenagers with it. it is because of the unhealthy lifestyles todays society leads. It is important to destress your life, eat a low fat, low salt diet full of fruits and vegetables. Eat very little processed and packaged foods if possible. These contain alot of sodium. A healthy life starts at a young age.

no, stress, weight and how healthy you are plays a big roll. you can also get it from your family tree. ask your family and see if it runs in your family. my mom is 62 and has perfect blood pressure but i am 37 and i have to take a pill because of diabetes and i am a transplant patient. the key is to eat right and exercise.
