Oh, honey. I almost cried reading this. My grandfather lost his battle to cancer two years ago, almost to the day. (june 16th). His was prostate cancer. I don't say this to scare you - you have to take into consideration that my grandpa was 91 years old and did not do any of the chemo or radiation treatments because he felt that at his age it wasn't worth it. My other grandpa, on the other hand, just beat his cancer (stomach cancer) and is now on the road to recovery, joking and laughing like he used to. There is hope.
As soon as I'm done writing this to you, I will light a candle for your grandfather. May there be peace in your family's life. Everything will turn out like it's supposed to.
Blessed Be.

i will right now for you, my dad has prostate cancer and i know he suffers daily. i bought him this tea from the health food store is specifically for prostate cancer, it helped ease the pain. i hope he gets better, also there is this book called: you can't afford the luxury of a negative thought, i loaned it too my dad the other day. it has positive quotes in there and it has one page long stories on positivity, death, and how he can be the first to overcome this disease or be the 2nd person. because the power of our thoughts can sometimes help us out of illness. if a doctor tells him he has so much time to live, he might believe it, dont let him.. he can possibly break through. u might be able to find that book at your local library or on ebay. i will keep him in my prayers.

I will say a prayer. My grandmother had colon cancer a few years ago when she was 75. She is good now, no lingering effects. Offer him all sorts of stuff, even greasy fries are better than nothing - thats how we dealt w/ my grandma. Her appetite was gone and we were afraid of dehydration. Keep Ensure and Boost around.
Warm wishes to him!

Socmum,
My dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer 10 years ago. It flared back up again 4 years ago. We still have my dad with us too.
I'm telling you this so that maybe you are encouraged that this can happen for your grandfather too. You might try giving him ensure (worked for my dad) but get it very cold first. It helped when dad was getting too thin.

Dear Heavenly Father,
I pray that you would be near to "Socmum's" grandfather. Help him in this time when he is living with cancer. I pray that Jesus, the Good Shepherd, will bring this beloved grandfather to "lush meadows" and "quiet pools" to meet his emotional needs so that he can catch his breath during his treatments. Help him to receive joy from the Holy Spirit in the midst of pain.
Even when faced with the dark valley of illness and eventual death (we all have to face leaving this world), I pray that You, Lord, will be with him, causing him not to be afraid and to feel You close by his side, making him secure in You. I ask that you revive his spirits, help him to remember his blessings so that his mind will overflow with thanksgiving.
Your love, Oh Lord Jesus, will reach to the innermost depth of understanding and will bring peace and hope.
Make him mindful of forgiveness through Jesus' death on the cross. If he still needs to reach out to you, help him to ask for forgivenss of his sins and accept your love for him.
Prepare his spirit to enter into your eternal home, knowing that eternal life with you is just the beginning of the most wild adventure of all! Help him to forgive others so his heart will be at peace. His hope of knowing that God holds the key to all unknown... he can be confident & re-assured.
Amen.

Father God, I come to you to life up this man who has cancer in His body. I come to you to ask you to give him and his family the peace that surpasses understanding that is described in your word. I pray that you comfort them and wrap your love around them. If it is your will, I ask that you heal him Lord. In your precious Son, Jesus name. Amen.
Phillipians 4:4-7. Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
May God bless your family at this time.

I'm sorry to hear that. Both of my grandfathers had prostrate cancer and survived it, and my grandmother had colon cancer and survived it. So there is definitely hope for him. Don't give up.
