They just treated me like the 14 year old I was. They made sure they got to meet the boy and had him to the house, for meals, and we sometimes went on family outings together. We were allowed to go to my room to listen to music, but my parents put their head round the door sometimes, just to make sure everything was ok. Naturally, this was not the boy that I gave my virginity to. That was much later when I was able to go out and stay out all night if I wanted.

Mine became a little more protective. they wanted to know everything about him and meet him eventually. I think its normal for some parents to raise concern when their daughter starts to date. The thing is - when your a teen there are a million things you are going through and sometimes relationships just make things worse so they were very careful to let me have my fun, but make sure it stayed innocent. They did not want me to do anything that would hurt me.
If they are treating you different - sit them down and talk to them. If they have concerns ... maybe have them meet this new boy in your life to calm their concerns.

they didn't really treat me differently, they were just a little more cautious when i asked if i could go out. just talk to them about it, if you ask them to have a conversation about it they will know that you are mature enough to have a boyfriend in the first place.

at first they were a lil skeptical, because all parents worry about their "little girls" finally growig up and having boyfriends, but after a while he proved to my folks that he actually cared about me and my well being, after that everything was pretty much chill

no they didnt treat me any different...but the reason they probably treat you different is because they feel that if they can try to keep you around them they figure you ownt make any dumb mistakes.....but they should treat you like a little kid they should just let you learn from your mistakes...
