If they Truly had they would not be Atheists now. One can reject What God Offers... but when one dose honestly answer God's call in The Way He prescribes there is no turning Back.... There is no such thing as as "ex" Christian.

If I ever experienced the 'holy spirit', do you think I would be an atheist now? (although I do know that human psychology allows us to believe we have been touched by the supernatural)

Did I get that warm fuzzy feeling, sure. I loved Santa too, and was sure he saw me being a good or bad boy all year long. So I suppose I felt twice the holy spirit.

Knowledge and experience.

I felt, what I thought at the time, was "the Holy Spirit." I felt led by god to attend a certain bible college for instance (and it was one I didn't want to go to!) I also felt "the peace that passeth all understanding" during the death of a child in my family.

I remember an old lady from our church asking me "HOW do you know when it's Gods voice? I've always wanted to hear that!" And I answered her.

Now I think I was a bit of an asse in retropect, but...there ya go!

I 'experienced' lots of things. Most of them felt very real at the time. Atheists and fundamentalist Christians both agree that, obviously, none of them were real. They just have very different reasons.

Dude, that is like asking if I saw Batman when I went to Gotham. No, I never experienced anything supernatural.

No one really experiences the Holy spirit, it is a myth.

I was raised Catholic. And no, I never experienced the "holy spirit" because it too is a myth.
I deal with reality now, not fairy tales.
