if there is pus, I doubt those are bug bites, at least not fresh ones, it takes time for the immune system to gather enough white cells as a response to infection to create the pus, overnight isn't gonna do it. So, I suggest you see a doctor, you could have a staph infection that will require antibiotics.

If the topical lotions won't work, try an over the counter alergy medication. This will deal with the histamines that cause a lot of the itching. BUT.. only if the person could usually take this type of medication. Aloe gel will also give some basic relief. The good news is that most bug bites stop itching after a day or so... (but that doesn't help for that day - does it?) good luck... .

If the bites are in a fairly straight line I would venture to say you have bed bugs. Clean all linen including pillows and vacuum mattresses. Also, check behind your headboard. If you see small black dots in clusters in the corners or grooves, it is definitely bed bugs. Spray mattresses with Lysol and let air dry. Make sheets are changed weekly. Pillows and blankets every 6 months at least.

I dont know whether you have pets in your home, but I had a similar thing many years ago after I stayed at a friend's house overnight, and found the bed I stayed in had fleas in it! I showered for almost an hour when I got up!

Caladryl Clear helps dry them up faster and it helps the itch too.
If the "pus" is yellow or green then you have an infection and I doubt they are bug bites. You would need a RX for that.
If it is clear drainage then they probably are.

It might be spiders, fleas, or mosquitoes. Try household ammonia, it neutralizes any insect poison
