Beating them with newspaper will only make them afraid of newspaper, if you have the means, going to puppy-training classes at places like Pet-co or Pets-mart can be extremely effective. Many Humane Societies also have training programs, but the internet can be a great free way to get some tips. I'll list some sites, but the basic principle of training any pet is rewarding positive behaviour. If a pet does something and recieves a reward, it will learn to do it again! If your puppy poos outside, love her/him up with kisses, pats, treats, and a soothing voice. Good luck!

Hmmm! There may be several problems you have not mentioned. How long have you had the dogs, & where were they before you got them? Maybe they (each?) acquired a bad habit at previous location. / Dogs are creatures of habit, so you need to take them outside the SAME TIME every day, plus feed them the same time also!! (By the way, are you letting them out for awhile right after they eat?) At least for awhile you have to keep a schedule for them. ~~~ Sorry to other comments! >>Someone else is NoT going to be able to train them to have doggie bowell movements & such at YOUR house -- GaWSH! > They're YOUR Dogs - YOU have to take responsibility! >You are the "leader". And you have the problem with both animals, which tells me it is probably a scheduling problem, and not the dogs themselves.

First of all, STOP beating them with the rolled paper!
Now that I have that out of the way, your dogs are still puppies. House training doesn't happen over night.
It takes a lot of patience and vigilance on your part.
Take them outside every half hour and use a code, like "go potty". Sometimes, it takes a dog 15 minutes or longer to find the spot to go.
When they do go, praise them "good boy/girl" and reward them with a treat.
If you catch them going in the house, tell them "no" firmly, pick them up and take them outside immedietly.
Do not hit your dogs!
That just makes them afraid of you and they you can wind up with them eliminating because of that.
There bladders are small and they haven't learned to control it yet.
Give it time.
As I said, it doesn't happen over night.

The first time a dog messes in the house , u need to take the dog and put his nose in it and demand....NO NO.
And put the dog out immediately to stay out awhile.
Next time the dog will whine to get out from the nose lesson.
