Yeah she had fleas and I have been treating her with some stuff I sprayed on her that I got from my vet for my other dog when he had fleas but I've never seen these things on her. she does scratch at them though and I try to get her to stop but that is like telling something to a baby which she is. But I just want to do whats best for her. Do you think bathing her everyday would help?

What are mites? Do flea collars really work?

She needs to be treated for fleas.....I can see flea "dirt" in at least 2 of the pictures.

The sores could very well be caused by her scratching at the fleas, or from allergies to the fleas.

Edit: What was the "stuff" you sprayed on your puppy? Many OTC sprays that you can buy at places like Walmart are really not safe for young puppies, and can even be dangerous. Even sprays you buy at the vet can be dangerous if they are not made to be used on puppies.

Bathing every day will only dry out her skin and make her itchier. She really should see a vet and get proper treatment.

Cute little puppy!

Looks like fleas - I see flea dirt (dark specks) in some of the photos. I bet if you gave her a warm water bath (just warm water only) the water would be kind of rusty colored - like it was tinged with blood.

Like human babies, puppies can have pretty sensitive skin and flea bites can cause this kind of rash. Yes, they can get infected.

Take her to the vet and have her treated for fleas - with an approved solution made for young puppies. Adult dog products can be pretty harsh on puppies. Then, call the exterminator to treat your house and yard for fleas - as if you see evidence of one flea - there's lots more you haven't seen.

Again, use products approved for puppies and babies.

I believe your puppy may have mites/fleas!

They leave little welts when they bite and also have that black residue that can be seen in the pictures.

Give her a warm bath, soaking her up to her chin and be gentle. Keep her in the bath for at least 10 minutes and then gently dry her and keep her snuggled and warm. Also, invest in a flea collar!

If this does not work, you will need to see your vet, and it is something more serious.

1st this is does she have fleas? that could cause owies similar to that.
2nd. a good diet will promote healthy skin, it could be dry, i also give my dogs omega 3 &6 (fish oils) Vit E oil and flax seed oil. it will help with healthy skin and should eliminate that.

i did hava an italian greyhound that had a skin fungus and the vet put her on an oral med for a few weeks and then we had to wash her every other day and let her sit for 20 min with the soap on. it think the soap was called malisab ( i got if from the vet.

Give her a flea bath and then treat the infected sites with Sulfidine. You can buy the stuff at Wal-Mart and it works wonders!
