I've been doing my part to help decrease my burden on the environment since folks thought the Earth was cooling. I didn't believe them then, either.
Here's the point: folks that are going to do right by the environment need little convincing. Fanning the flames of hysteria can only lead to counterproductivity. The folks who are apathetic towards the environment, many of whom may have been guilty of an overall negative environmental impact, are the ones that need to be reached in terms of improving environmental responsibility REGARDLESS of global climate. These people ARE being alienated. Just on this "civil" forum, I've seen suggestions of "eliminating", stealing from, and vandalizing those who don't believe in global warming. The people that can actually make the biggest difference are being turned off.

I agree! go pollution! We got to make up for all the "greenies". I for one buy soda in the can just to take a bag full of uncut rings to dump in the ocean. no but seriously, if you don't have to pollute don't pollute. If I live my life normal and don't walk to work, or don't drive a hybrid, its none of any ones business. Go hug your tree and keep an eye pealed for the chainsaw.

It's not arguing for pollution.
It's arguing for industry. It's arguing for food production. It's arguing for improved medical care. It's arguing for better living conditions. It's arguing for human advancement. These are things which require large amounts of energy. Pretty evil aren't they?

Thanks for asking this question. Everyone wants to say that global warming doesn't exist, but that doesn't give ANYONE a free pass to pollute. I would like to apologize in advance to all of our great-great-great grandchildren.

The globe may be warming, but they can't say it's caused by man.
But, we shouldn't deliberately cause (unnecessary) pollution--that not the way to be good stewards of the earth God gave us to live on.

Who exactly is "arguing for pollution?" That's a very nice strawman. You have fun knocking it down.

Even if they are wrong it makes sense to act as if they are. If they are wrong, no harm done. If they are right and we do nothing, we may be too late to stop a catastrophe. That, and there is no "if" anymore - ask John McCain.
