I have a 8 week old malti-tzu I'm not sure how mant times a day i should feed him?

I am feeding him cesar food! What do you guys think i should name him i was thinking about Tux! ((hes black and white))

You would do better feeding him dry food. Those little teeth need hard things to crunch on. Check the labels on dry puppy food. Generally, 3 times a day, and amount based upon weight. Good luck!

First off, you should NOT feed a pup wet dog food. Ever. That is just way too much for his tummy to handle. You should have asked the breeder (since you named a breed/hybrid) what they fed him.

I would go with a dry puppy food for now. Something like Purina for puppies. We give our pup Purina Exclusive. It's great. I would suggest feeding your pup twice a day: once in the morning and once early evening (around four PM). About fifteen minutes after you feed him, take him to potty, so he gets a routine going.

As far as how much you should feed him, I would suggest half a cup of food each time. My German Shepherd pup (purebred, 8 wks as well) gets one cup of her dry food at the above times. She always wakes up with a little left over and she eats enough to get her through to the next feeding.

As far as a name, Tux is alright. I would suggest a "real" name, like Jack or Mike. We named our pup Heidi.

Usually with puppies you feed them whenever they want. It's not until they are older and you know they've had enough that you feed them once a day.
Tux is a very cute name.

why do you want to limit him?
put his food down for him and he will eat when he's hungry.
when he learns it's always there he will not overeat and not get fat. he may just nibble all day, so what...
may decide to eat in the middle of the night. let him.
done this with every pup i ever had. no problem.

He can be fed three times a day until he is six months old, then twice a day.
