Skybus offers really low fares but they only fly to a few cities.

I don't know. America West used to be cheaper, but I don't know where you need to fly to and from.
I heard last night on Letterman that Virgin Atlantic (Rich Branson's airline), will be offering air service in the U.S. starting in August. It will be called Virgin America ? (I think). Will be curious to see what the prices are !

Spirit Air is pretty cheap also. Depending on where you are going, go directly to Delta.com or United, sometimes they have deals. Good luck.
