Wow. That is the strangest question I have ever seen on the issue of global warming. On one hand you have terrorism, in which terrorists are actively trying to kill every man, woman, and child that is born either Jewish, or American. On the other you have global warming, an unproven speculation that even if real is not set to effect us majorly for a long time. hmm I would think I will have to go with the turban head with an AK47 aimed at my head.

This question has really open my mind. Looking at all the GW alarmist answers I can see now there is no rational behind their ideas. It is all a religious belief, and these answers have made me sick. I want all of you who pompously, close-mindedly, and arrogantly answered global warming to go and say that to the families of those lost in the 9/11 attacks. Go to a military base in Iraq and look the soldier in the eye, who have lost friends fighting the terrorists so you don't have to, and tell him/her that. You make me sick.

Presently, the answer would clearly be global warming because it is an Extinction Level Event(ELE) that will decimate countless species and may very well result in the annihilation of the human species. It also has priority precisely because the American government refuses to adequately address it. This is a problem because the U.S. is the largest polluter per capita of any nation on the planet.

However, terrorism may become a greater threat at such time as any terrorists acquire nuclear or biological weapons of sufficient potency to create a global catastrophe, either by precipitating a nuclear exchange between multiple nations or by infecting much of humanity with an incurable plague of some kind.

That one is easy. Global warming.

Look at New Orleans and the other areas of the Gulf Coast where so many died, and so many were displaced. We still haven't helped those people properly.

With Global Warming, there will be more extreme weather patterns, and we can expect more disasters like Hurricane Katrina.

Look at the death toll of the tsunami after Christmas, 2004, in the Indian Ocean. About 150,000 dead, and another 250,000 displaced persons.

The Pacific Rim of Fire is an area that we know will get Tsunamis because of the earthquakes in the area. But with the rise in sea level, tsunamis that happen will be much more destructive than even they used to be.

As animals move to cooler climates, but the plant life doesn't, there will be massive unbalance in their ecosystem. This will effect humans in so many ways.

If the people who would become terrorists have enough good food and potable water, decent housing, and proper education, they will diminish. Killing people never convinces others that they are wrong. Global warming will be very bad in the Middle East, because it is already extremely dry there. If their countries are dying from Global Warming, they will have all the more reason to try to take control beyond their own borders.

If we helped oil-rich countries get into solar and wind energy now, we could insure that they had plenty of resources in the future. And they wouldn't need the excuse for why they (like Iran) should be allowed to have nuclear energy.

How can anyone say that global warming is a bigger threat than terrorism with a straight face? Terrorism is an immediate danger that worsens every day. With the road we're going down, the earth will be destroyed by WWIII long before global warming can make an impact.

The biggest imminent threat to the world is America ,if they start a nuclear war for supremacy of the planet.

And they are planning to wipe out just about all the indigenous forrests in the world .

Under the U.S. Federal Criminal Code, terrorism is defined as:

…activities that involve violent… or life-threatening acts… that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State and… appear to be intended (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping; and… (C) occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the United States… [or]… (C) occur primarily outside the territorial jurisdiction of the United States…"

The term "global warming" is a specific example of the broader term climate change, which can also refer to global cooling. In common usage the term refers to recent warming and implies a human influence.

Terrorism - In 2001, 2,953 U.S. citizens died from terrorism-related incidents. That's the highest year on record due to the attacks on 9/11. In Israel, approximately 40-50 people died every year in the 1990's. According to one source, allied forces have killed 6,593 terrorists in Afghanistan and Iraq since January 2006.

Experts say if the most recent plot to use the dirty bomb was carried out "it would have been unlikely to cause deaths, but was designed to affect about 500 people."

Global Warming - At least 1,836 people lost their lives in Hurricane Katrina and in the subsequent floods. Abnormally high temperatures in Europe in the summer of 2003 were associated with at least 27,000 more deaths than the equivalent period in previous years. Other weather extremes, such as heavy rains, floods, and hurricanes, also have severe impacts on health. Approximately 62,000 deaths per year occurred world-wide as a result of weather-related natural disasters in the 1990s.

Major storms are predicted to get worse, and the World Health Organization estimates global warming already contributes to more than 150,000 deaths and 5 million illnesses annually, and those numbers could double by 2030.

From a death standpoint and the statistics I found, I'm going to say that global warming is not only a bigger threat than terrorism, but it's 10x to 100x a bigger threat.

not one of the above. Corporatism is the criminal. Capitalism is inherently a good factor - merchandising freedom and financial prosperity for actually all of us. under capitalism, everybody prepared to artwork for it has the prospect to be effective financially. on the different hand, Corporatism is what occurs while elite company pursuits hijack governments and worldwide bodies with the consequence that regulation and coverage represents the pursuits of those firms and not the pursuits of the easy human beings. The scientific care: save government small to decrease the inducement and threat for companies to hijack it, as prescribed by utilizing the form. Withdraw from worldwide agencies that usurp nationwide and state sovereignty.

According to the STERN Report, the casualties from global warming might be very large

According to the assessment report ordered by ChristianAid, the potential death in the 2 next centuries related to Global Warming through wars, fight over resources, etc... might reach 180,000,000.

How many died in the WTC again ? 3,000 ? Sorry but that´s peanuts in comparison !
It´s just more mediatic and that is what the islamofascist wanted !

Why aren't you showing pictures of the 35.000 people that died in heat waves in 2003. The devastation currently occurring in Australia? The fact that as temperature zones shift the climate follows after them and, likely leading to droughts, famine etc. Some believe the droughts in Africa, when the rains failed year after year, was caused by those changes. Why do you see it as necessary to pitch the two against each other? Shouldn't everyone help in BOTH regards? You are obviously against global warming, but please: try to convince us with scientific facts, not these methods.

I see you are in need of attention John Galt. What I suggested was that you actually provide something use full, not miss use such events to promote your own purposes.

If you seriously have to ask this I suggest you find out exactly what global warming is going to do.
Besides the only terrorists endangering us are Bush and Blair. The others are hoaxes designed to make the public scared of terrorists so the governments have more power.
You don't believe me? Ask me anything and I'll explain.
