my grandfather has one made by marlin and we both like to use it. i found one online for $114 and i think thats reasonable. does anyone have any info where to get a single shot 12 gauge for cheaper?

Your local pawn shops. You won't find lower.
Those NEF's folks have mentioned usually run in the $65 range. Look for Harrington & Richardson guns, too. A bit older than the NEF's but pretty much identical.
Singleshots are perhaps my favorite type of firearm. I've owned literally dozens of them over the years. Usually buy them as parts or damaged goods and then restore them. Those and my various Mossbergs I'm always looking for are the only guns I really work on anymore.

New England Firearms makes a nice single shot for around $100.00.If you would like to go cheaper you could always try to get one used,those single shots handle abuse pretty well and i think it may be the way to go for you,i dropped mine from my ladder stand(12 ft ) about 8 years ago and it hit a tree stump and bounced off then hit the ground(unloaded) and it still works fine.Single shots are great for kicking around in the woods and a standard in most gun collections,I bought mine used and who knows what kind hell it had been through before I got at it,I sure but it to test on several occasions and it comes up shooting every time,no matter which brand you buy,you re making a good investment

NEF new england firearms single shots are around 100 an used ones can be had a lil cheaper go to a small local gun shop or maybe a walmart gander mountain an ***** sporting goods an such are over priced

thats about the cheapest youll find. Walmart is always low on guns if they still sell em in your area. New England fireamrs makes a decent single shot for around that price, so id say thats probly what it is. Id check around at gunbroker.com, they sell em pretty cheap, but its an auction site.
