I like Terry's response.
I'll add that I can't detail what it feels like. Try explaining an orgasm and you see how words are limited to the exact feelings. That's the way magick is. Yes I have experienced true magick. It's not always about spells. It's about living really. I am sure my magick is real. Seeing a spell work is great. Knowing you helped someone is better.

Witches is a christian term that some have finally brought to honor rather than denigration. However, those of the Crafts and of the Lore have been practicing Magick longer than Christianity has existed.
You ask for detail.......Well, we do not quote from books other's wrote, so I will not give you chapter and verse codes that are supposed to prove something.
Magick is taking a way pain with a spell and two hands. Magick is making up a potion that allays fear. Magick is finding water with a tree branch. Magick is delivering a baby at home without drugs. We do them all and more. Christianity appears to be a proud ignorance of what Nature and Magick can achieve.

I am Wiccan. I don't "do magick." The problem with people who don't understand Wicca is that they think we perform magick like they see on Charmed or in movies. That is not how it works.
Magick isn't turning someone into a toad or making a potion - at least not in Wiccan terms. We don't perform spells or curse people. Our Rede (holy rule) is: Do what you will, but harm none. Wiccans do not perform acts to manipulate other people or situations that other people are involved in. We don't perform ritual to bring harm to anyone, nor do we curse anyone.
Magick, in the sense you are talking about, is what magicians do. I pray, cast circles for my worship, perform spells and use tools to to focus intent. If I use a green candle and pray over it to bring wealth to my household, I am not "bewitching" others to give me money. I am taping into the Universe to bring this my way as long as no one is harmed in the process.
Performing Wiccan magick is about focusing intent. It is not clouds of smoke and turning people into toads.

I side with Queenie on this.
Magic is also making a poptart for breakfeast, and an awesome cup of coffee.

i am not a witch but I was going to practice spells and all that bad stuff but I did not want to open another door, because the wicka book straight out tells you what ever you do it will come back to you 3 x's harder. There is such things as them having magic, every year witches go to old morency in Arizona and meet on halloween on their brooms. So yes it is very real but as a cost to their life
