Now that we have solid PROOF that the iranian government was indeed supplying weapons to Taliban in Afganistan, is it that far-fetched to think they are supplying weapons to the insurgents in iraq (what ppl have being saying for a long time now)

what if we found it it was, got them to stop (by either talks or force) and all of a sudden the violence in iraq stopped.....

because as i remember, there wern´t 100´s of sucide attacks and roadside bombs in the begininnng, only in the last couple of years.

so, what if we get iran to stop supplying weapons, training and insurgents and then all the violence.... just went away?

Unfortunately I think that it is going to take some sort of military action in Iran. The leadership of that country seems to be toying with all foriegn governments calling for them to disarm, while in country the anti-US, anti-Isreal outbursts are happening daily. Unfortunately the example of the lead up to the situation in Iraq only serves to embolden Iran. They saw the UN, time after time, eneffect say "You better do what we say, or else...or else we'll threaten you with sanctions again!" They always talked but never followed through on the threat of actions. I have to believe that Iran feels as though it can do whatever they want because of the lack of a real response to their actions.

I do not doubt that some American arms dealers are also making a quick buck selling to anyone. We have heard stories about that in the past. The Iranian gov. itself may not be supplying the Taliban but some people within the system could. Iran won't grab their ankles for the US and this has pissed off the admin for ages. It's rather amusing to see how the US press demonizes the Iranians. They did the same with Saddam. The game is getting old and TIRED.

Iran has only been supplying weapons to the Taliban for the past couple of years. When we first went to war in Afghanistan, they allowed us to resupply Northern Alliance forces from Iranian territory. After our victory in Afghanistan, they provided political pressure on Afghanis to cooperate with the US in forming a new government.

The problem is not that Iran is creating resistance in Iraq and Afghanistan by supplying weapons; the problem is that we have created opportunities for resistance in Iraq and Afghanistan, and at the same time we have alienated and threatened Iran, encouraging them to supply weapons.

Wow... that's the solution !! We need to get that "Han Solo" aircraft up over the Persian Gulf and broadcast that information to the Iranian people !!

Sadly, the Iranian Government has been acting like little thugs since 1979... I remember blowing up their mines in 1986, sinking half their Navy...

Solid proof? Is this the same type of solid proof for WMD's used to invade Iraq that started all this crap. Invading Iraq was a huge mistake, invading Iran will be an even bigger one.
