NO... HERE IS How It Happened. Note that we evolved from many MRCAs (most recent COMMON ANCESTORS).
Re YOUR: "Wow...so how..." ... Only a CREATIONIST would have this problem, it seems.
Note that *all* of humanity is related, plus we’re all related to apes, monkeys, elephants, broccoli, amoebas, etc., right back to the Origin of Life some 3,900,000,000 years ago, maybe a bit longer. And we know much about humanity’s development, and the most recent common ancestor (MRCA) for most splits back through time. And the amount of time is critical when viewing a biblical ~6,000 years -- a date discarded by science since Charles Lyell’s Principles of Geology in 1830 - a close friend of Darwin’s, BTW. (Note that this post relates to *more* than just species evolution, as does creationism.)
The planet took some 500,000 years to accrete from star stuff and rubble, completing some 4,700,000,000 years ago, and life took hold within the first billion years. Here’s a very basic reverse timeline of life-related events (see Source):
- Y-Chromosome “Adam” (patrilineal MRCA) – 59,000 ya
- Mitochondrial “Eve” (matrilineal MRCA) – 143,000 ya
- H. sapiens sapiens (Modern Human) – 130,000 ya
- H. sapiens (Archaic: H. heidelbergensis) – 800,000 ya
- Early Genus H*m*: H. habilis, et al. – 2.5 mya
- Australopithicines (many species) – 4.5 mya
- Hominids & Chimps/bonobos (MRCA) – 5.5 mya <<<<<<<
- Above & Gorillas (MRCA) – 7.0 mya
- Above & OrangUtans (MRCA) – 14 mya
- Above & Gibbons (MRCA) – 18 mya
- Above & Old World Monkeys (MRCA) – 25 mya
- Above & New World Monkeys (MRCA) – 40 mya
- Above & Bushbabies, Lemurs (MRCA) – 63 mya
- Above & Colugos, Tree Shrews (MRCA) – 70 mya
- Above & Rodents and Rabbitkind (MRCA) – 75 mya
- Above & bears, weasels, cats, +… (MRCA) – 85 mya
- Above & rest of Placental Mammals (MRCA) – 105 mya
- Above & Mammal-like Reptiles (MRCA) – 130 mya
- Above & Reptiles (Incl. birds) (MRCA) – 310 mya
- Above & Amphibians (MRCA) – 340 mya
- Above & Lungfish (MRCA) – 417 mya
- Above & Ray-finned Fish (MRCA) – 440 mya
(The book below gets increasingly technical as other MRCAs join other life-forms, including, in order: worms, insects, barnacles, Chengjiang & Burgess Shale creatures (including early vertebrates at ~520 mya), jellyfish, coral, sponges, fungi, amoebozoans, plants, archaea, eubacteria, ribosomes, and somewhere around 4.0 bya, the Origin of Life by abiogenesis.)

Monkeys and humans evolved from a ancient ancestor. The monkeys evolved t and are now suitable for the environment in which they live. Humans evolved further to adapt to the situation in which they live. If you look monkeys are still evolving. Some can make tools. Some can draw and some can even use sign language. They are becoming more human everyday. Go to any museum and look at the evolution section. Look at the man and monkey skeletons. After seeing them how can you still believe evolution is a lie. How when the bones are almost identiacle. How when they have the same characteristics, eyes nose, mouth hands? If after that you still don't believe in evolution then you sir are an idiot.

When is this belief going to stop?? Didn't you pay attention in Biology or Anthropology class when evolution was discussed?? We are NOT descended from monkeys and apes, but monkeys and apes have a common early ancestor. We then branched off and each species developed separately. What the heck is a "monkey-sapiens"??

If your trying to make fun of someones beliefs you should take at look at people who believe in God aswell, everyone has their own opinion on life and how we were evolved. To be honest I'd say both of them we're myths and ledgends. Personally I don't know what to believe in, I care about the future not the past. But I'd say evolving from a monkey was more believable =] Plus monkeys are cute babyyy! But the whole monkey business is wrong, and stop making words up!

Uh....I am a Christian and I believe that humans and monkeys both evolved from a common ancestor. And I believe that God created that ancestor, so I am still God's creation, thank you very much. So, tell me...I believe in God and have accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior...but since I also believe in evolution are you saying that I too am damned?
Someday we may be joined with God and know all that he knows, but until then I do not think he will condemn us for choosing to believe in the "best guess" that science has come up with. And since he is not condemning me, why do you feel that you have the right to?
Please quit giving Christians a bad name. Jesus said to "love thy neighbor" not to insult them.

Why does this stupid question get asked so many times.
Don't people actually read books (other than the bible) or indeed look on old questions.
And for the record, I would much rather share a common ancestor with a chimp than be the product of some crazy incestuous relationship as outlined in the bible.

I think we have a monkey right here!
Seriouly, humans and chimps have a common ancestor. We did not evolve from modern chimps.
Also, you have to go back many thousands (millions, depending on how strict your definition is) of years to get to a non-human ancestor.
I'm much more ashamed to be descended from some of my barbaric human ancestors than from my non-human ancestors.

We evolved from apes. Absolutely. Why? Does it humble you to think that were an animal just like anything else? Thats right you want to feel special. Like some intangible being's special little creation. Look around! your not special and neither am I. Nobody created anybody in anythings image. If we are so special in within gods image why did he use the same genetic building blocks as every other living thing? I would have thought us god-modeled humans would be above something like that. I guess not. Well you and God have one thing in common, you are above the realm of commen sense.

When I was an atheist, I did not even undertand evolution and still don't get it, it goes over my head, I was an atheist because I thought everyone was deluded and the bible was a bunch of stories and I was just coming out of the mormon cult and wicca did not work for me either. I believed in the ice age, but I don't think i was a monkeys uncle.

If an atheist or anyone else believes that, they would be pretty ignorant of basic science. No scientist has ever made such an absurd claim. In fact no-one ever mentions the foolish idea of humans evolving from monkeys except people totally ignorant of science.

I would rather be related to monkey's than christians. Straight up. There is no difference between monkey's and humans. They are all god's creation.
