Average Woman (140lb 5' 5") 1700 calories per day.

Men Average can range from 1800 to 2200.

Women Average: 1600 to 2000.

Activity and size will denote higher calories. If you're more active you can eat more but don't expect to eat 3000 calories unless you're a body builder. What fools most people is a restaurant visit with an appetizer, dinner and desert could be 2500 in just that one meal!

If you want to lose weight as a woman strive for 1500 calories per day as a woman and as a man strive for 1700. Don't kill yourself, the goal is to lose weight in a healthy way.

I have heard so many answers for this one. there is no magic number. Things to remember about a child is that they are like a heated furnace. they are burning calories all day plus the growth process uses a lot of calories. The most important thing is the quality of the calories. Avoid processed foods as much as possible. fast foods and junk foods. These foods do not satisfy the hunger and causes overeating. also the added sugars and hydrated fats added to these foods is terrible for all of us. eat whole foods such as meat veggies and fruits. not fried or sugar added. Calories should be at about 1200 min.

A normal person should be about 2000 cals.+ exercise to keep a normal weight. But, it also depends on your age, and how much you weight. The more exercise you do the more calories you need to take in to balance out how many you burn.

It really depends on how active you are.
If you do not excercise and are a women I would keep my daily intake around 1300 to loose weight.
