i've had it for 6-9 months and was told it was a callus (i've never had either anywhere on me before so i didnt know what it was but assumed it would go away on its own) does anyone have any advice or information on how to take care of it and/or make it go away? thanks in advance

i found out it is a plantars wart, not a callus.

A plantar's wart and a callous are not the same thing. I suggest you make an appointment with a podiatrist (foot specialist) to first diagnose what it is you really have. He will then treat it for you.
I don't feel comfortable recommending to you what to do when you seem unsure as to what you really do have on your foot.

It will not go away on its own. You can go see a pharmacist, there are some over the counter remedies.
