Great question! I used to always wonder this but I think I have it, now. I think 24m really translates into 18-24 while 2T is like age 2 until almost age 3. So yes, 24 m is smaller...not by much, though!

In some clothes brands there is no difference between 24 months and 2T, but in others there are. I always think of the 24 months size as being 18-24 months, while 2T is for 2 year olds, although as I said in some brands there is no difference. There definitely is a difference in Carter's clothes and most of the higher end clothing brands though.

I have a 28 month old son and I think (like all clothes) the size varies by brand. However, I have noticed his 2T jeans seem to be longer than the 24 month sizes.

24 months and 2T are the same size the only difference is the waist. 24 months is for a toddler still wearing a diaper.

There is a small difference. Some kids get stuck between sizes and 2T is too big. That is where 24 month come in. It's just a little smaller to catch the inbetween stage in growing.

yeah there is a difference mostly 2T is slightly bigger but mostly when sizes are done by months they are usually body suits not regular t-shirts. 2T will never be a t-shirt since allot of people start potty training at 2 so the body suit are too hard for a toddler to unbutton themselves!

It may vary by brand, but 2T is generally bigger and, as I remember, a bit differently proportioned for kids who are now able to walk a lot but are still wearing diapers. Overalls are cut longer, and wider in the thighs.

I never saw much difference, except in the stride of jeans and shorts! Mine could always wear either if they were in the 24 month size! But I do think the t is longer in length and stride!

theres not alot of difference. 2T is a little longer. when choosing clothes just put one size next to the other and you will see what i mean. i just go with the Ts because those baby clothes shrink
