We want to honor our local military servicemen/women on our July 4 float and don't want to leave anyone out. Is there a website that would provide this info?

I would hope not. What a gift it would be to a terrorist!!!

Troops at home were picked out and targeted in the UK recently but thankfully their police swooped first. You may think it would not happen in the US but look at what happened to the troops returning from Vietnam, spat on, sworn at, houses daubed with paint, even in some cases their children attacked!!!

Also any member in special units would not want their names and especially their photos known.

Whilst you want to honour them you need to honour their right to privacy and security as well.

No, the military keeps that information confidential. Just make the float read something like "In Honor of All That Serve Our Country" That will cover everyone including those not in your area.
