These words that Jesus addressed to his heavenly Father indicate that to understand the Bible, we must have the right attitude. God’s wisdom is revealed in that he has provided a book that only humble, teachable people can truly understand. In contrast, the proud and haughty despise Jesus and his message.
1 Corinthians 1:19 says ..: “I will make the wisdom of the wise men perish, and the intelligence of the intellectual men I will shove aside.” The so called wise and intellectual men of this system tend to trust in their own wisdom look down on the Bible and it's message. In the end, it is the humble who are blessed to understand deep Bible truths whether they have a lot of secular education or not.

There is sarcasm in these words as the Jewish leaders are ironically identified as wise and intelligent and the followers of Christ as the infants (Matt 18:3-10 ) - yet God has revealed to those followers the truth of the Messiah and His gospel.

I see this as a message that what is the good about the knowledge and intelligence if you cannot understand something that even children can understand. Children follow the leader, knowledge might give you the wrong understanding about your own intelligence and you do not feel like following the leader.

Consider the intepretation of that writing as it is a good one.
Consider that "God" hid nothing, and the eyes of a child are wide open spiritually, so to speak, as they have not be indoctrinated by any "false truth" (Any Church or teachings); children can see that truth and often Speak it aloud.

What I see is an interpretaion placing "God" as center of the idea of "hiding Truth"; this concept is deeply imbedded in most religions; and came from the Christian Bible, correct?

The "wise and learned" would be the "holy ones" whom already "know God"; and to think Sarcasim could be used to make a point?

If one can agree that Figurative speech best describes the "Bible", consider: Jesus, (Truth) said; "the truth is hidden from those whom are wise (indoctrinated)" and plain for the children to see."

Nothing is hidden if you seek and do not cling to "wise ways" (indoctination of the Church) and so on. Not complex at all.

The "wise and learned" are wise and learned in their own eyes. He was speaking of the religious leaders of the day. The Pharisees and the Sadducees were pompous and thought they had a corner on the God market. They thought that the unlearned people just couldn't understand God, and needed the religious leaders to explain everything for them. God made His message so simple that a child could understand it. No one has such simple faith as a child. As a parent, we tell our children something and they believe it, no questions asked. As they get older and think they know more than us, then they begin questioning everything we tell them. It's the same way with God. When people get so knowledgeable in their own minds, they begin questioning God instead of accepting what He says with faith.

God wants innocent people to teach. The others have deeply ingrained philosophies of men . The bible says it's hard to overturn deeply entrenched things...beliefs that are so part of their lives there is no room for the truth.
Worldly wise men have a haughty attitude and are not approachable or humble. They feel they already have their paradise in their fine cars and big homes and huge salaries.

Childlike persons are malleable and eager to learn about God. They are joyous at the thought that they will get life.
God promises...the meek will inherit the earth.

I think the little children he talked about there were his 70 disciples, who were ordinary country folks, who had gone out and done stunning miracles in Jesus' name, healing badly afflicted people of thier afflictions. So its metaphorical. They obviously have childlike aspects that are praiseworthy. Clever knowing people probably would not believe that God could work miracles through them. God can teach us when we are humble. So much supernatural stuff contradicts what we grow up to believe true. Our minds can stumble and prevent us believing (especially us know-it-all adults); a childlike faith in God's ability paradoxically is most effective.

"little children" "Babes" as describing those to whom these things are revealed - can't be taken literally!

* their helplessness and dependence. (need of a savior)
* their trust in their "father" for everything they need (Nursing children)
* Used as a model of saving faith (Mark 10:15; Matt 18:3; 19:13; Luke 18:16)

precise awareness of God and his purposes is mandatory for a efficient existence. John 17:3. Divine training includes no longer in straightforward terms info and figures approximately existence ,our artwork, environment, and so on., yet is located out and used with popularity of a author. "awareness puffs up" in accordance to a million Corinthians 8:a million. So gaining an excellent style of tutorial awareness could have an unfavourable impression on our character and dating with God if we don't coach love and appreciation for our presents and skills by residing in unity with God's will for us. look into James 3:17: It speaks approximately "know-how from above", which ought to precede useful head awareness if we are to prevail in existence. additionally, Proverbs 3:5, 6 (NWT) says: "believe in Jehovah with all your heart and don't lean upon your individual awareness. 6 In all your techniques take word of him, and he himself will make your paths at as quickly as." i think of the nice and cozy button is "modesty". Taking in awareness is nice, yet we ought to continuously comprehend our barriers and proceed to be humble earlier God. Humility isn't a weak point yet a potential that facilitates us to maintain a Christian character, whether we are a genius.

This isn't saying that he doesn't reveal things to wise, just that little children are more likely to have faith.

It is because God wanted us to come to him like children, not like arrogant adults who think they have it all figured out.
Children trust their parents for things, children have faith in their parents being able to care for them (learning how to walk, talk, ride a bike etc...) all those things take faith in your parents.

This is what God wants us to do with him.
