I cant right click on the desktop, i mean i can but nothing shows up, i cant click on the start menu, the only way to get into any programs is to hit cntrl, alt, delete and click on new task, and select a program. I tried running the virus program and it found no viruses. I am using the free version of avg. Before all of this happened, i got hit with alot of viruses and i moved them to the vault, but i hve since then deleted them and still having the same problem. I am using Windows Xp. Please, Pleasee help

Jake, I did that, and then the start menu showed up for about 5 seconds and then disappreared again. I cant reinstall the os because I dont have a cd

it sounds like explorer is not launching. pres cntr-alt-del and g to the file menu n click new task the type in explorer.exe. -Jake
