Eggs are an excellent breakfast food because they are very high in protein. Eating a high protein, low carbohydrate breakfast will keep your blood sugar steady so that you don't feel hunger as quickly. Eating a high carbohydrate breakfast will cause your blood sugar to rise and then fall when your body produces insulin. When the blood sugar falls suddenly, you will become hungry.
If you eat several small, high protein, low carbohydrate meals a day (instead of three big meals), your blood sugar will stay steady, your appetite will be somewhat suppressed, and you will probably lose excess weight.

I believe that it is the protein that makes you feel full longer, however, if this is for weight lose purposes I have read recent studies that show that people who have cereal for breakfast weigh less than those who eat eggs. Just food for thought!

The protein... anything with high protein is filling! Try wheat bread toasted with peanut butter... and two eggs. And if you want to throw in a protein shake... which are all high in protein. And stops hungry cravings.

I would venture to guess it's the protein content in the eggs that holds off appetite.

As all the others say it's the protein, that's why protein is good for people on a diet, because it will prevent you from having cravings.

I think it's just a matter of protein content. If your body is well-nourished, then your body will not shift into starvation mode-- which deteriorates your muscles and leads to hunger.
