LOL I used to call it "Pop" but I prefer to say "soda" now.

"Pop" doesn't annoy me as much as people down south calling all kinds of pop/soda "Coke" EVERYTHING is a coke...LOL
Me: I'd like a coke please
Waiter: What kind?

It's just a regional thing. The midwest says pop, I grew up saying pop. But a friend of mine moved back from Maine and she was always saying soda. It stuck with me. So now I'm on the west coast where it's mostly soda. But every once in a while, pop still slips out of my mouth.

As long as it's not coke. I had customers (obviously from out of town) ask for a coke. I said that we only had Pepsi, is that OK? And they'd get mad and say "But what other cokes do you have???" Grrrr.

It depends on what area of the country you are from what you call it. My dad is from out west, he calls it soda. My mom is from the south and calls it pop. Same as some people call pancakes flapjacks or hotcakes depending on the region.

It just depends on where you are from. I'm from MI and say pop. Don't pop us in the mouth, we can't help what we grew up saying. Hey, at least we don't say "worsh" instead of wash!
