We are a new non-profit organization providing legal, financial and transportation to Cancer patients during their treatment. We are located in Southern California and currently are in need of vans to use to transport Cancer patients. We are registering with Cars for Causes but how do we find others to donate a vehicle. We are a 501(c)3 and the donor would receive the tax deduction. Looking for ideas, to get to the public. The need for transportation is enormous.

Have a local newspaper do a story on your organization for some publicity. Then, story in hand, start canvassing business (car dealers, large corporations) to help you. Good luck in your wonderful venture.

You need to have a representative go door-to-door to local businesses, especially Auto dealers and ask them to sponsor your group.
Go to the local football, baseball or basketball team and ask them for donations to help purchase the first 1 or 2 vans. Fundraise...Fundraise...Fundraise. Use the local sports teams, new stations and radio stations. Get some of the children you are looking to help, to be at these benefits.
I hope this helps. More people need to care like you do to start this foundation. **** Luck!

A charity that I'm associated with in another country uses vans on loan from dealers with the dealer's name on the side.
