If you have any vacation time or personal or sick days saved up, use them now, you are entitled. Other than that usually not, if you do call in without having those days available, he your boss could fire you on those grounds.

It is really great that you were given notice, most companies just let you go and thats it.

He has to have a better reason than just not getting along with you.

Check how much paid time off (vacation and sick time) you have. You are entitled to be paid for all that time, as well as any hours you work during the next two weeks. You are expected to work the next two weeks as normal, and ready your work to be handed over to someone else, and train them if a replacement is hired. But generally companies are pretty flexible, and will allow you to use your paid time off to go on job interviews, or slow down your productivity a bit. Some companies are even willing to "look the other way" and will pay you even though you don't work those days, but that is dependant on each company, and you should check with your boss to see what he's willing to agree to. If he really dislikes you so much, he'll probably agree to do anything to get rid of you that much faster. But legally, you're still expected to work as normal for the next two weeks.

Your boss will probably let you have a few hours off to go for a job interview. The two weeks notice was very professional of him/her. Many people don't even do that.

i've found that most companies that give you notice like that will allow you to take time off for interviews - they are the reason you are having to job hunt now. just ask your boss, or better yet, ask your human resources person. also, you might ask for a letter from hr explaining the reasons you are being let go and stating that it is not because of work performance or ability.

It is quite obvious time for you to find a new job and hand in your resignation willingly. It is better to resign yourself then getting fired. Your boss is kind enough to do that. Some just fire you without even telling you why. Find a job that you like. Be happy with your job! Good Luck in finding a new job. {",}

Read your employee handbook - you may not be able to either take or be paid out for any time on the books. There is no law regarding this - it is only company policy.

Unless you've got vacation leave to off-set the two weeks otherwise there isn't any options for you.

If you have a job interview lined up, ask him if you can "be late coming in" or " take some extra time for lunch."
Hint, hint!!
