He didn't have the money to make it cooler, but the warrior system by the U.S. is basically the same thing, with a "cool" factor. The U.S. also has such armor already, made to fight in a nuclear war environment.
I think the stupidest idea was either the jet pack that was heavy and only lasted about 30 seconds, Canada spending hundreds of millions of dollars on a hovercraft that didn't work because they didn't put a rubber skirt on it or the U.S./Canada designed and built piece of junk called the Avrocar with all the cool factor but was totally useless.

I think it has some kinks to work out but I do believe its a glimpse at the future. Anyone who has played Battlefield 2142 can identify with this kind of suit, and believe it or not prob another 20 years down the road the worlds armies will be suiting up in something similiar to this.
However I do agree with having GWB as commander in chief is indeed the stupidest military idea ever.

For all of you saying that GWB is the worst mistake for the military, why don't you take this into consideration, since he has been president the military is the strongest and most funded it has ever been, when clinton was in it was the weakest in US history, thats why when it comes to elections 70% of the military vote republican, not necessarily because they are republican but because they know that they will be taken care of, and when the military got that high pay raise during the clinton administration it wasn't because clinton wanted it because it wasn't, the REPUBLICAN congress voted for it, so think about it a little more if your in the military who treats you better when it comes to politics
