yes. it has been referred to as a reverse statue of liberty. there are no rights at all for any one detained there. i'm all for bagging terrorists, but what goes on at Gitmo is directly opposite of what this country stands for. we should lead by example and detaining anyone thought to be associated with terrorist activity and then denying them evidence or rights and subjecting them to torture is not what america stands for. that is why leaders like Colin Powell believe it should be shut down right now and the prisoners transported to a federal prison.

Nope, its perfectly legal within the Geneva Convention.
since the people being detained there are not soldiers of a country which we´re at war with they cannot be consided POW´s.
They are members of a (terrorist) organization that has no countrys support.
besides, they´re bad guys, really bad guys.... and we´re treating them a lot better than how they would treat me or you! and we don´t even have anything to do with all this...
we´re just infidels and we must die...... so add that to your equation when trying to figure out who is right and who is wrong.

In order to be a 'war crime' you have to be able to quote a relevant 'in force' Law of War' that forbids it.
Too many people seem to think that their political opinions are all that it takes to make something a 'war crime.'

Guantanamo! The answer is a resounding NO! War crime, you got to be kidding me. I have learned a lot on Yahoo answers, one thing I have learned is that yes, there are stupid questions, and those are questions that the asker already knows the answer to, and yet can not accept it. This is one of those.
