I own an ATV, it caught on fire last night and was distroyed. We never got any kind of recall notice. But if there was a recall and we never found out and the damage is done, what will happen. Will the company replace the ATV?

If your ATV just spontaneously burst into flames on its own, then it might not matter if there was a recall or not. That is a very serious defect, and you should contact the dealer to report what has happened. If your vehicle is under warranty, then it should be covered. If not, then you may still be entitled to some sort of compensation. This is all assuming that the fire was indeed caused by normal use of the ATV.

Get the ID number, year, and make and call the dealer. They should be able to call to check to see if there were any recall bulletins put out for it or they can give you an 800 number to call the manufacturer about it. Not sure if they will replace it unless it was something they had a recall on that caused it. Good luck!

You first need to contact the maker of your atv example: Honda, Yamaha, Polaris, Kawasaki..ect. to see if there ever was a recall on your make and model. if there was, when? and what was the recall for? if it was for "could cause fire" on your make and model you need to tell them what happend and it would'nt hurt to contact your insurance agent to explore your options......hope this helps!...Todd

If you didn't register your ownership, maybe not. Use the Web to search for the brand name and 'recall'

More than likely they will just say, sorry about your luck. You can probably sue them or there might be a class action law suit already in place.

If you have homeowners insurance, it may cover it.
